The music is very loud in here, the service was poor and food was okay. We had probably 3 different servers, and when they gave us our food they didn’t ask if we needed anything else. When we tried to ask for what we needed, we were told to wait. Didn’t get napkins after we asked so had to use paper towels from the bathroom. Had to wait a long amount of time for our food and for our check to be taken. Everybody seemed in a rush, yet one of the waiters spent a large amount of time at the table next to us. Same guy that told us to wait for what we wanted

Don’t order aguachile shrimp to small no flavor looks like they just added water with green sauce! Birria broth was thick, Iowa has the worst Mexican restaurants in the mid west.

this restaurant is authentic mexican,so if you used to american-mexican (if it makes sense) you may be disappointedloved the guacamole, spicy tilapia was only mildmy husband, who is Californian-Mexican, was not impressed at all with his beef enchiladas

What a great place to stop on Tuesdays-honestly any day of the week, but Tuesdays offer $1.00 tacos!!!!I had two hard shell fried tacos only meat and cheese and the Mr had three soft shell, meat, cheese, tomato and lettuce.They are nice filled tacos.We are crazy tamale fans and each ordered one as a side.They don’t show on the menu, but just ask your server.We each ordered the jumbo house margaritas! Yummm!We have enjoyed every time we come to Cedar Rapids and have time to stop, they truly are so nice at El Bajio!

We were driving through and thought we would give this place a try. It did not disappoint! The smoked margarita is amazing, it's not too sugary, and has a great flavor. My husband loved it so much I became the designated driver (I had soda water, it was actually pretty good). The salsa...we ordered some to go so I could eat it later on during our road trip. I ordered nachos with chicken. The chicken wasn't seasoned but there were so many other things going on it was forgivable. My husband had the choripollo, he's not a foodie but he is fond of this Mexican dish. He loved it! He said we will have to stop there on our way back, that's high praise from my husband!! This place is definitely worth stopping.
