Checkers Tavern & Eatery is a popular spot with a friendly staff and a great selection of beers. The bar tender is known for recommending their signature burgers, which have been praised as the best in town. The restaurant is a neighborhood favorite, with a very welcoming group of regulars and a friendly crowd. The live music on weekends is also a highlight, and there is a good jukebox. The nice FULL menu includes sandwiches, like the very good and tender pork tenderloin sandwich, to home made pizza. There are video games, darts & TV. While parking can be a challenge at times, they had a parking lot and the restaurant is within walking distance of nearby hotels.
