“Amazing experience tonight! A group of 5 girls got together and first met up at a restaurant on 1st Avenue and 2nd Street downtown. The service was beyond horrible. It took 45+ minutes and THREE requests for our server just to bring water to the table. One girl told our waitress to just cancel our orders as we were going elsewhere. The waitress literally gave us a thumbs up and kept on walking. We reconvened as a group to Mamacita's, and from the minute we walked in we were treated amazing. The restaurant was packed, and they were busy, but we never felt neglected in the least. Macarena was our server and she was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The bartender was Julio, and the drinks were total perfection. Amazing food, drinks, and service. Mamacitas did an incredible job turning a bad dining experience into a wonderfully memorable experience!!!“

“We tried the appetizer Fire Cracker Chicken Cream Cheese Twists they were out of this world yummy. Then we both ordered chicken tenders. They were golden brown and seasoned to perfection. They were scrumptious white meat no scrimping there. I had the jalapeno creamed corn. The bowl was full to the top but I was hungry and dug in then remembered I should take pictures. That was delicious. I actually ate that first. My husband's totes were also golden brown and tasted great.Our only mistake was going in during the women's Hawkeye basketball game as we are not huge sports fans and during the game you felt like you were in a movie theater. It was super loud. On the bright side, I finally saw a Hawkeye women's basketball game and they won. LOL! There were only a couple of tables in there and they were having a lot of fun. Mind you it is a sports bar that's what's supposed to be going on in there. So while it may seem like I'm complaining, I am not just stating facts. After the game they turned down the TVs and put on some pleasant music.The waitress was very pleasant and as we were climbing into our truck my husband had forgotten his leftovers and she came running out with them which was so super sweet.I will definitely go back.“

“I had a wonderful time visiting with friends here a few nights ago. The food was wonderful and the waitress was amazing.My only complaint is that there was a drunk regular who was harassing the waitress and bar staff. He was incredibly obnoxious. When the front of house staff asked for help from the kitchen a male employee refused to come help. I also over heard that the owner refuses to kick him out. I’d really like to not experience this at all when out to eat but when something like this happens the owner or other staff in general should always support their coworkers.“
“I always get the cheeseburger wrap because it's my absolute favorite. The place is a little pricey for a bar, but I feel like everywhere is that way anymore. I'm not a huge fan of the darkness that is the entire atmosphere, but again, it is a bar. The service was good and the waitress was super nice. Good bar food if you are in the mood for it!“

“Came in to watch the ISU basketball game and was pleasantly surprised to see it on more than one screen. Had a taco salad, minus the ranch but added salsa & sour cream. It was fantastic! Just the right size. Finished with the chocolate cake (warmed up) & ice cream. OMG! Sooo good! The service was spot on which was very pleasant. “First time here. Not busy, so we ordered quickly and received our food/drinks in just a few minutes. The made to order Burgers are all about $10 each and ours were made correctly, and were hot. My only complaint is that a firmer bun is needed as the one used is to soft and fell apart. The small order of fries $4+ was enough for both of us, and they were hot and lightly salted. Coke products is not my favorite,so I just got an ice water, and my husband got a shake for $5.50. yikes!! very pricey...but he said the salted carmel was good. Overall...2 burgers, 1 small fry and a shake for $31 was pricey. oh..free peanuts. That was an unexpected surprise.“
“My partner and I ate there for the first time for lunch. The staff was good about answering the questions we had. I had the gyro combo (extremely delicious) with fries and a pop. My partner had the gyro double cheeseburger with fries and a pop that he really enjoyed. We split a strawberry cheesecake. They put our hot food in styrofoam containers with aluminum foil to go. There is only one table there, which is a disappointment. But overall a great experience! We will be back to try more items on the menu. Thanks!“
