I had the steak salad, very good and filling , my wife had 8oz steak she also said very tender and she loved it and the few drinks that she drank. We invited a couple others and they thought it was great. We will be booking another diner there again. Thank You so much
Great food overall! The quality of the dishes was excellent and everything we ordered was well prepared and full of flavor. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into both presentation and taste. The atmosphere is one of the highlights — the dim lighting creates a warm, intimate setting that’s perfect for date night or for taking someone out when you want to make a great impression.
The only area that could use some improvement is the drink selection. It would be nice to see a few more options such as sparkling water, Coke Zero, and a broader variety of non-alcoholic beverages to complement the food. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I would absolutely come back again.

Food was excellent, we had a great dining experience for a work night out. Service was also great. Will go back!
First time at the restaurant and I was sure what to expect. We took a family member out for their birthday and we were very impressed! Service was great. Atmosphere was a little dark for some of us but not everyone but the food was absolutely fantastic! Overall it was an excellent experience and we will be back.

Excellent food service, and ambiance. The filet (USDA Prime) was perfectly cooked and seasoned, no need for any accompaniment. Paired with a Caesar salad and Boursin mashed potatoes, both excellent. The scallops and risotto were delicious, paired with lobster bisque and Cajun creamed corn. Tasty yeast rolls with home made honey butter. A very nice wine list and finished with the skillet cookie for dessert. Gabby was an attentive server, friendly and checked in at just the right times without rushing us. Nice ambience in both the restaurant and the lounge. Best steak in town and so happy we discovered this place!
My wife and I ordered the fillet with béarnaise sauce and it was excellent. All the food was great and the service was excellent. It's just a little noisy.
We had a delicious filet and crab stuffed walleye. Our server Hayley was so personal and was an awesome server. We would definitely eat again at Midtown Reserve.
This place is not safe for celiacs, despite having clearly marked gluten-free items and staff who confidently say they take allergies seriously. I ordered the seared salmon on a bed of pilaf with a baked potato. The food itself tasted great—rich, flavorful, no issues there.
But the aftermath was another story. I didn’t end up with a simple “tummy ache” from a bit of contamination, I got full-blown, this-chef-doesn’t-understand-allergies sick. I was genuinely shocked that a place with this kind of atmosphere and price point could handle gluten-free preparation so poorly.
If I had to guess, the issue came from either the pilaf under the salmon or a sauce used in the main dish.
If you are gluten-free or have celiac disease, RUN from this place. It’s not worth going through what I just went through.

Excellent food and service! There was one party there that were having a very good time and weren't afraid to share their laughter with everyone in the restaurant. We will be back. The pork chops and crab stuffed walleye were both excellent dishes.
My husband and I dined at Midtown Reserve for our anniversary 11/10. I was ready to be wowed, but it fell well short. I will say I am originally from Chicago and have gone to many of the great steak houses. We started with the brussel sprouts and they were terrific. I ordered a glass of The Prisoner at $22/glass. I am very familiar with this wine and immediately knew I was drinking wine that had sat open too long. I asked for a fresh glass after the waitress said it was opened 11/6 and their policy was to serve open bottles for up to 5 days after. 5 days is too long--and at $22/glass ?? I had the strip steak ($49) and my husband the bone in rib eye ($79). Steaks were very good, cooked exactly on target--but--my husband's ribeye was not butchered evenly. So the outside edge was half as thick as the rest of the steak so much more well done. At $79 you shouldn't even serve that steak. I ordered the mashed potatoes in a cute little iron skillet. They were just warm. Ok but not anything special. Maybe would have been better if they were hot. So overall good but not great. Prices indicate it should be better. It was a Monday night so not very busy so that can't be blamed. And the seating--can't they get a comfortable chair.

My wife and I stumbled on Midtown Reserve while in Cedar Rapids and were very impressed. Menu offered a great selection of well though out entrees and drinks. Our server steered us right, and the food was terrific. Really enjoyed our visit!
One of the best filets I've had in all my travels. This place is top tier in every aspect.
Fantastic food and service. Timing was perfect and staff was polite. We would definitely go again to celebrate another special occasion!
By far, this was the best filet I have ever had! The staff was wonderfully attentive, atmosphere was very nice but the steak was truly the highlight of this experience. It just melted in my mouth. Excellent experience all around, I will definitely be back..
The entrance was a bit confusing but the atmosphere is nice. The food was good, drinks were good, staff was nice
