The food is not something that we expected. I thought when I ordered fish and chips that I'll have a somewhat big chunk of fish but it came like small bits. Kinda disappointed. We waited for a server to check on us and get our order while seated but no one came. I have to asked and then told that we need to do the ordering in their bar. There was no posted instructions of whatsoever that this is their way. Anyway, my husband and i were not really happy about the first experience. The atmosphere was entertaining though but that was it for us.

Food was good typical bar food. We had fish & chips came out nice and hot. No lemon wedge. We also shared the appetizer combo. Shrimp, curds, onion rings, chicken tenders. Nice and hot when served. Then never saw our server again. Had to flag down another server to get our server so we could get our ticket to leave. Never saw one? Gave us a price has a hand held Device to check out with took my card said it didn't work. She needed a different machine. Left with my card came back fumble said we were checked out. Never got a receipt or an opportunity to tip. Hopping she did not help her self. Driving back to MPL just wanted to get on the road.
Did enjoy sitting on the dock listening to a couple of songs before the musician stopped.

We try the landing every summer, and the food this summer was exceptional. New menu additions, hot food was hot, beer was cold, and really good flavor. Really good changes. If you haven’t been this year, try it out. Staff was really responsive.

We visited this restaurant last night and unfortunately were extremely disappointed. We have visited this restaurant for years over the summers and I’m not sure if there is new ownership or management but something is very different.
We were treated very nicely by the two hostesses up front but after that things went downhill. Our food had not arrived after almost two hours and our waitress checked on us once, also forgetting our drinks. Delays can happen, but what was most frustrating was the complete lack of acknowledgment or apology from management.
Unfortunately, this visit has made me hesitant to come back.

Wasn't sure where you could park so we didn't go there

We stopped at the Lakeside Landing for a beverage and a snack while visiting Clear Lake, IA. Very fun spot. Lots of seating on the deck right over the lake. Good appetizers. Interesting local craft beers on tap. I highly recommend it.

Our book club group of 16 visited The Landing in Clear Lake, and I was incredibly impressed. Food and drinks for a group that size can be challenging, but everything came out correctly, hot, and in a timely manner. My bruschetta wrap was phenomenal!

A special thank you to Mike for setting us up in the Speakeasy so we could Zoom with author Loretta Ellsworth to discuss her book Stars Over Clear Lake, which is set in Clear Lake. It made for such a unique and memorable evening.

To be honest, I hadn't been back to The Landing in a few years due to some disappointing experiences with the food, drinks, and service in the past. This visit completely changed my opinion. The service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and the entire experience was seamless—especially for a group of 16.

A true 5/5 experience. We left impressed and already talking about coming back this summer. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

A lovely little spot on Clear Lake only a few minutes off the interstate. We stopped for a quick bite on a long road trip. The menu had a lot of great looking choices and we opted for a flight of fries which were very tasty. We sat at a table on the dock with a lake view and watched a kid catch a fish on the next dock over.

I normally don’t do negative reviews, but this one needed to be said. We called ahead for a reservation and were told 5pm would be the best time to come in. When we arrived, we were then told there wouldn’t be any cooks available until 6pm, so we’d have to wait to order food. We said no problem and decided to have drinks while we waited.

Unfortunately, things only went downhill from there. The beer was warm, the mojito was honestly terrible, and there were gnats everywhere — swarming around tables and flying around people’s heads the entire time.

When it finally came time to order, they were out of almost everything. No fries with burgers, no fish, and several other menu items unavailable as well. It was just a very disappointing experience overall.

I’d be willing to give Lakeside Landing Kitchen + Bar another try down the road because the location has potential, but there are definitely some major issues that need to be fixed first.

Lovely place to sit outside and enjoy the lake views. Mahi Mahi tacos and sandwich were both good along with the sweet potatoe fries and sesame green beans.

Only bar was open. Good selection.
No cash accepted. Patio/awnings could use a good scrubdown
