Great experience - highly recommend
Found this place and so glad we did. Great food and Great Service. Definitely will be back. Can't wait to see this place on game days.
This is now the craphole of bar & grille places in central Iowa. While we had a good server, Sam, the rest of the experience was well below expectations. The worst wings I've ever had. Fried nuggets with sauce just poured over. What used to be really good boneless wings are now awful. Two tables there the whole night. Heard they're charging for lemon/lime slices for drinks. Needless to say will not be back under current ownership. Shame on you.

Rookies Sports Bar & Grill offers a lively sports bar atmosphere with attentive and friendly middle-aged staff. It is a nice little neighborhood sports bar where the food is delicious, and the staff is known for being the best. The homemade poppers are a standout, and the burger sliders are tiny bundles of joy, while the cheese curds hit just right. Although the wings may be overcooked, the restaurant handles high volume well.
For families, the staff has always been warm and welcoming, making it a great place for family gatherings. They even provide special treats for birthday guests. Rookies never disappoints, with a typical sports bar vibe, great service, and prices that are spot on.
The happy hour offers a buy one get one half off deal, which, while not spectacular, is good enough for a decent row of draft beers. The half-price appetizers, like the large breaded mushrooms, are a real deal with a crispy coating and juicy inside. With plenty of TVs to watch games, the place is busy and filled with satisfied customers enjoying the MLB and other games.
