The worst was the brown sugar milk tea which I couldn’t finish because it had 2 inches of thick molasses-type syrup in the bottom of the cup, which, in addition to getting stuck inside the straw, made the whole drink instant liquid diabetes.
I love sweet-tasting things, but that was overkill. The other menu items I’d tried were rather bland. Staff are friendly, venue is cute, but the menu needs improvement.

This is by far my favorite boba shop in Des Moines! I visit at least once a week as my end of the week treat and I've never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. The owner and staff are always the sweetest, kindest people and are so friendly! The selection is amazing and the shop itself is very cute and relaxing. I don't know how I haven't left them a review sooner and I wish I could give them a hundred five star reviews!

I've been coming here for a couple years now and I can't say enough good things. My go to is the smoothie Ube Twist. But since the seasonal boba drinks are available. I recommend the black sesame smoothie. It's like a savory peanut butter. Also the caramel apple was really good. The new menu for Christmas is coming out and I got the opportunity to try the Hot Taro Hazelnut drink. It's amazing! The owner is super friendly and so are all of the Girls I've met working here. Best Boba drink place in ALL DES MOINES

Came here based on a recommendation for a friend. Unfortunately, I was severely disappointed for the price point and my boyfriend and I had stomach aches afterwards and I threw up later that evening :(

The mango milk tea tasted like the smell of gunpowder/fireworks. The macarons tasted ok. The Hokkaido milk tea was watered down and fake tasting, and the coffee jelly smelled horrible, but it was actually pretty decent. Only thing nice about this place was the bright aesthetic, but this place will ruin Boba if it's your first try. Horrible and never coming again.

I have loved this place since it opened. It's really cute inside and the service is always 10/10. The only reason I cannot give a 4 star review is due to what I saw today.. the place appears to be infested with fruit flies. I did not feel comfortable drinking my drink after seeing that. I hope they can get this taken care of because it was really gross and off-putting. I ended up throwing my drink out which is a bummer because it was 7 dollars.

BUT THE ONE I CHOSE I WAS TOTALLY GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP I RECEIVED FROM THE TWO LADY'S WORKING HERE. I WILL BE COMING BACK AS WELL FOR MORE FLAVORS BECAUSE NOT ONKY DID I FEEL WELCOME, BUT I DID INDEED ENJOYED MY AWESOME DRINK. MY FIANCÉ CHOSE THE OREO MONSTER AS I KNEW HE WOULD? ? HE SAYS IT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD AND TRIED MINES AND REALLY LIKED MINES BECAUSE IT WAS COFFEE, MILK TEA AND WHIPPED CREAM THE DRINK WAS CALLED (CLASSIC MILK TEA DALGONA vanilla) I WILL ALSO ADD THE ATMOSPHERE WAS RELAXING, PEACFUL AND NOT TO MENTION GREAT PLACES TO SIT IF YOU CHOOSE TO ENJOY YOUR DRINK OR DESSERT INSIDE. I got the s’more smoothie which is one of their fall flavors and it was absolutely amazing. I sat in the shop to drink and get the full boba-perince and it was amazing! The seating area is super cute and my drink was gone in only 5 minutes! The boba-ristas were the greatest I’ve ever had! I will return to this boba-tastic place.

As far as Boba Tea locations in and around Des Moines go Shaking Boba is definitely one of my favourites. Not just because the selection and variety of flavours and teas on offer are excellent and taste great but because the price is very fair, the staff are super kind and accommodating and they run awesome promotions.
During my last visit I was able to order my regular tea with zero-percent sugar and I was given my choice of a free macaroon with my purchase as part of a promotion I didn't know about so that was a pleasant and exciting surprise.
