Yoshi's Bar & Filipino Canteen

Always happy to support a local Filipino (and apparently one of the only) establishment. The owner's the nicest people that we ran into on our vacation to the area!

Delicious, flavorful food with perfect portions — the garlic rice is amazing! I loved the Pancit Bihon (chicken and rice noodles). The atmosphere is great, and Chef Julia is so kind — she even comes out to check how your food is. Who does that? Most chefs don’t take the time, but she really cares. Excellent service all around. Highly recommend Yoshi's Coffee Bar and Filipino Canteen!

Too expensive and trans people

We had an amazing experience at this Filipino restaurant in Iowa during our work travel! The food was absolutely delicious—with a nice presentation. The mechado and menudo was perfectly seasoned, the sisig had just the right tang, and the banana con yelo was the perfect sweet ending. The chef is very hospitable and friendly, ms Julia. Highly recommend to anyone craving real Filipino comfort food!

I was gonna give them a five, but because I had slipped and fell in the establishment on the steps. Camera doesn't do it justice, because it don't show how dark the stairs are and how you really can't see it the watch your step. If anybody gets in there while it's dark, you can't see the watch your step nor the second step. Please take some pictures and add to this. The owner got a little attitude and threw me out and told me I was banned from the place. That only my lawyer and medical team could come in there. I'm just a 62 year-old woman. We went in there looking at the place proudly just to be mistreated for something I hadn't even begun. So that's what happens if you get hurt or fall down in this establishment.

Went for some mocktails, my husband got the Blue Bulls and I got the sexy Lexi! both were delicious! 🥳

I got Chocolate covered strawberry ice coffee and Rumlesschata Red Bull drink, and they both were so good, I don't drink Red Bull, but I'll go here for a red bull energy drink anyday. Service was good and staff was friendly and drinks was mad under a minute no wait or anything. Chair's was comfortable and soft. Gives off fancy vibes here
