Ordered the street tacos and flautas. Both were delicious. Especially the flautas. Just like the ones I had in Mexi-cali many years ago. Wasn't looking for a great Mexican restaurant for lunch today, but I think I found one.
Our daughter gave us a gift certificate for hacienda vieja to thank us for house sitting for her. I really like Mexican food and we visit Mexican restaurants frequently in Des Moines. I really didn’t know anything about this restaurant... I probably didn’t have high expectations to be truthful. We enjoyed the best tortilla soup we have ever had. We came to this place for dinner. my friend recommended this spot. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we felt good. The meal was yummy. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended.
