Very friendly people. Great little Cafe. Was stopping for breakfast... they stopped serving breakfast at 10. A little too early to stop serving breakfast in my opinion... had lunch instead. Decent food .. nice people
We stopped at the Dexter Cafe on our way to Winterset, IA. The staff were wonderful, accommodating for one of my children with dietary restrictions which require us to bring in his own food, and the food the rest of us ordered was very good. My youngest child is a very picky eater and the pic below should tell you all you need to know. :)

I stumbled upon this place, despite it being on Yelp. It's a small place with a concise menu. Interestingly, it's one of the gathering spots for the local ag community. I got the pork tenderloin and, not fries, but 'sidewinders'. The latter have a potato wedge shape with a twist. Both I recommend. Additionally, the friendliness of the owner/cook and the front end guy (and two farmers) helped make this a 'keeper' in my book.
