5 stars – The PERFECT event space!
I hosted my 30th birthday party at Gary Dolphin’s Iron Bar, and I truly can’t say enough good things. The space itself is incredible—versatile for any weather (which is huge in Iowa), cozy yet open, and full of charm with string lights and exposed brick.

I 100% recommend this spot! This past weekend they were able to accommodate me in about 20 friends, for a surprise birthday after another place fell through last minute. Garrett and his staff were so hospitable. The band was great. The courtyard is something special 🤩they even put the prelim UFC fights on the big screen for us!

Based on the reviews, Gary Dolphin's Bar is a great gem of a bar with an awesome atmosphere. The outdoor area is so cool and welcoming, with a MASSIVE screen to watch a football game. The atmosphere is perfect for just about anyone, whether in the main bar area, the outdoor patio, or Dolph’s lounge to play chess. Drinks are great and lower priced than expected, with cold beer and reasonably priced options. The service is excellent, with bartenders who are extremely welcoming and fantastic at sparking engaging conversations. The outdoor area truly shines with a great selection of activities and a genuinely authentic Irish atmosphere. While they do not serve their own food, it is super convenient to grab a bite right next door in the same building. It is also the PERFECT event space, versatile for any weather with string lights and exposed brick. Whether for a celebration or a casual get-together, this is the spot in Dubuque.
