I had a very enjoyable experience here. I was seated in a timely manner. The environment was clean and there were a medium amount of people present in various booths and tables. Not too busy, and not too empty. The menu was very clear and easy to understand, with many choices of food items ranging from appetizers, sides, meals, rolls, drinks, and desserts. Once I ordered there was a short wait for my food, not too short, but also not too long. Being by myself gave me time to appreciate...
I can't say enough amazing things about this sushi bar. The fish is very good quality, especially for the Midwest.

I ate at Shokai during a visit to Fairfield. It is delicious. I get sushi but they have other options for non fish eaters. The fish was fresh! I know middle of the country that can be a concern. I had salmon and the color was right, no smell and delicious flavor. Also had spicy tuna. Only 1 ordered a cocktail so it was about $30/pp with 2 appetizers. Highly recommend and will return next time I'm in Fairfield.
