Drove all the way from Florida to let the kids experience the deliciousness that is Lamar's. Best chicken we've had in a long time!! 10/10 definitely recommend!!!!!

Classic American diner. Old school feel great food. Felt like a local. I am definitely going back.

If you are looking for great tasting comfort foods, made from high-quality ingredients, and served by a friendly and efficient staff, look no further. Ja-Mar Drive In is the place. The cozy diner atmosphere is enhanced by light from three walls of tinted glass windows, surrounding the dining room. The space is nicely decorated with little surprises and subtle touches. I personally haven't experienced it yet, but according to my husband, if you come on the right day... you might get a free ice cream cone for dessert!

Went here for breakfast a short while back used to go here with my grandpa as a kid. I was sadly disappointed my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy they left a lot to be desired I only ordered pancakes and when I did get them they were served on a Dixie paper plate . The pancakes were almost bigger than the plates. When I tried to pour syrup it ended I all over me because of the plates being to small. The place has really gone down hill.

Expect great food for expensive prices with horrible service. Got the kid 3 peice strip. had to eat taters with fry’s instead of silverware until I went n asked. Also didn’t offer any ranch or condiments. Great food terrible

Trying someplace new but pretty sure I will not be back. Cashier seemed annoyed as I was looking at the menu. Once I ordered the Monday special, double cheeseburger, fries and drink, she gave me the drink. Took a little longer than I thought it would to get my order and I wouldn't have minded if it came hot. I was expecting bigger hamburger patties but the sandwich looked like a McDonalds double, very thin patties and fries were like warm at best. Thank goodness that my Dr Pepper was good and I went up to get some more so I could feel myself up before leaving half of my sandwich and almost every fry. Be sure to look at your receipt. My total was $9 something but when I got home and looked my credit card showed $10....not happy. That is deceitful.

The food is always good. However, my husband ordered a bacon double cheeseburger, they charged $5.98 for the double cheeseburger and an extra $3.62 for bacon. Could almost buy a pound of bacon for that price and we only got 4 strips. Yikes!!

Jamars is a staple of Fort Dodge, IA. It's been around forever and there's a reason for that. Their chicken is broasted I believe. Either way it's amazeballs. Staff are super friendly. They have spud-os, fried cauliflower, mushrooms and cheese balls that you can buy in a pound. Just amazing try it.

Everyone here is very friendly. But it's a very busy place. I love the fact that they bring the food to your table. We had the tenderloins and the french fries. The large french fry was enough to feed six of us.
