This of the highway roadside diner with fast friendly service was a highlight of my recent trip to Iowa from Minnesota. The building is kind of nondescript and run down. It looks like an abandoned fast food place. There are lots of booths to sit in and you seat yourself and order at the counter. Our food was brought to our table. It was kitschy and mismatched retro but very clean and nice updated clean restrooms. I had a breakfast sandwich. The ham on the sandwich was so good. I also had a soda and a cinnamon roll. Great place. The lunch menu looked amazing too but we had to get on the road. My travel sidekick enjoyed his meal too he had a breakfast platter and we shared a glazed donut that was the best donut I have ever eaten. The service was prompt and friendly.

Absolutely Trash. The manager was at best unprofessional and berated an employee in front of all of the customers to easily hear who was doing her best to provide more than adequate service to the 30 plus customers within the restaurant. No employee deserves to be treated as such.

Made an trip to Fort Dodge for a funeral. I never go to or through Fort Dodge without stopping for their awesome broasted chicken. They always have great daily specials but the boasted chicken always finds its way on my plate or in a to go container.

I’ve always thought this place was cool. I wasn’t around in the 70s, but I imagine this atmosphere and food was similar to how it was then. I’m not big on breakfast food, so it’s nice being able to stop by at around 10am or so and grab lunch when no other places have started lunch yet.

Don’t think I’d call this a burger… the cheese slice is thicker than the meat. My 4th time here and I’ve yet to find something enjoyable on the menu. Don’t think I’ll be trying again in the future.

Food was cold, service (aside from one lady) was awful, made eye contact and they both just sat in the back talking about nothing work related to someone who I'm assuming had the day off, only when a lady getting off break came in to finally get things moving. Food quality was terrible it was all cold (hot turkey), and the gravy looked like it sat out all night. I never once looked at a McDonalds and said, "That would have been better" before in my life. The only positive to this building is that there is a dairy queen, and it has a nice atmosphere (aside from the swarm of flies we had to fight off). There was also a baby in the kitchen, which was kind of worrying, a lot of dangerous stuff in a kitchen for a baby. If you can afford to avoid it, avoid this restaurant please, if not I hope your experiences here are much better than mine.

We try to go here whenever we come through. It's the best homemade food around. The fried chicken is really good ! One thing I especially look for is the Apple Dumpling !! OMG it's to die for !! And of course we always have to take home some pecan rolls.... but they never make it all the way there !

I love stopping here when I'm in Fort Dodge! It's my go too spot.
A clean, reasonably priced, friendly place to eat.
I hear they have excellent chicken, I'm stuck on the Hot Beef. It's the best. Just like old school diner comfort food from my youth!!!
This place is a treasure!
I would strongly recommend it!
