What a unique restaurant right on the Mississippi!
Great service and delicious food.
A must visit if you're visiting or just passing through Fort Madison.
Visited last night and experience was horrible!! Waited almost 20 minutes for a waitress. We stopped one that passed by to ask if we would be waited on soon and she said “Let me check”. She then came back within 10 mins, walked up to our table and said “What can I get you”? Worst service ever and the band was horrible too!!
manager Ben was rude and nasty to us. the food was cold. absolutely terrible service took 10 minutes before anyone even came to our table.

Turnwater Bar and Grill has attentive servers. The restaurant has a great view of the river railroad bridge and marina, making it a great place on sunny days with lots of outdoor space. Some visitors enjoy the drinks. However, a recent change to the service style has been disappointing for some regular customers, who miss the self-service and ordering at the door. Despite this, they continue to visit due to the atmosphere and will still recommend it to others. A companion once got a tenderloin that was a bit undercooked, but mistakes can happen. The outdoor space is particularly enjoyable on cool Sept days.
