Took my new wife there for her first time and we enjoyed it. It's a unique place. Could use some sprucing up (though I did notice a couple new doors up front),but the food was excellent and the service was good.
You know how you sometimes stumble upon a little breakfast diner where the food is a revelation? Everything is made from scratch, the eggs are hand gathered at a farm a mile away and the recipes feature subtle seasoning? Well, this isn't that place. A & M is a place where beefy retired guys gather to hold court, celebrating unchallenging food and affordable coffee in a sort of windowless storeroom. And that's just fine. The staff is cheerful. The prices are reasonable....
Should have paid attention to the reviewer who stated he had to send the hashed browns back to get cooked more! They’re supposed to be browned.I was one of just four customers seated when my order went in; there was no need to hurry me out the door or open up my table.
