Grin City is the reason I get up on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays! I love their old fashioned donuts, their uniquely flavored Bismarck's, and the spicy kolache. Super friendly folks with awesome baked goods.
If you are passing through Grinnell on and early morning Thursday-Saturday morning you must stop and get a treat. The donuts are amazing. The service is great and the owners are wonderful.

I grew up in Central Iowa, and this place is one of the best-kept secrets around. I discovered Grin City just two months ago and have been hooked ever since. Their sausage kolaches are absolutely to die for—especially the jalapeño sausage kolaches. It's like a perfectly baked roll wrapped around a juicy sausage, similar to a pig in a blanket, but better in every way.
