“Má ơi, ngon quá. This sandwich shop serves the most authentic Vietnamese Bánh mì in the area. I’ve tried many places from Iowa City - Hiawatha. This shop is the best from taste to price compared to the others. I recommend getting the #1 Bánh mì đặc biệt / specialty, and wash it down with a cafe sữa đá / Vietnamese Ice Coffee. The shop also offers an array of various drinks if coffee isn’t your thing. I highly recommend anyone to stop in for a good lunch. Sandwich and drink here taste better, more filling, and priced better than going to a place like Subway.”

“If you haven't stopped in to Pita'z Mediterranean and American Cuisine (Center Point Rd, Hiawatha) you're truly missing out. My husband and I stopped in again for dinner, and the gentleman behind the counter met us with warm cordiality. We're repeat offenders here, so we got our usuals, shish tawook with baby ganoush and chips (below) and gyro with hummus and chips, and a side of falafel. We did notice how friendly and knowledgeable he was for the first timers who came in behind us. The food is nothing short of exquisite. Everything we've had on the menu has such a beautiful blend of spices and garlic that if you take a date there and that person doesn't want to suck face with you at the end of the night, that person is not the one. This is the food that helps you find true love. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor, paired with that addictive creamy garlic sauce and perfectly fluffy chewy pita bread. And the baba ganoush, oh that smoky goodness. The falafel was delightfully fluffy on the inside, and crispy enough on the outside that it didn't fall apart when you bit into it. My husband really enjoyed his gyro platter, but isn't as wordy as I am, but I did see his eyes roll back at least twice, so it must be fabulous. Nonetheless, please please stop in to this criminally overlooked gem.”

Their Carnivore pizza is my favorite, but there are a handful of things I want to order every time we go. Can’t say enough good things about this place, so so good!”

“I love Culver’s restaurants but was disappointed in the Hiawatha location this evening. We stopped there just because they had Creamy Lemon Crumble for the flavor of the day, but it turned out to be Creamy Vanilla Crumble. We couldn’t taste any lemon, though there was lots of cookie crumble in it.”

“I claim Paradise as my favorite Indian restaurant in town, or perhaps my favorite above all others. They are so thoughtful with their buffet options, always offering unique dishes while considering the palates of people from other backgrounds. When you want spice, they can really bring the heat (and this from a pepper head who can never get things spicy enough). The owner and staff are always kind and happy to share cultural info about their food. Ordering from the menu has always been a bountiful experience with amazing depths of flavor. Oh, and I almost forgot... the JUICIEST most flavorful Tandori Chicken I have ever had. Every time. From anywhere. Even from my travels to Indian restaurants in London. I don't know how they do it, but I don't need to know. I'll just keep coming back for it.”

“I heard how great Tomaso's Pizza is so I was looking forward to trying it when our family gathered together while we were visiting the area. The staff was great at answering all my questions. I decided to skip a salad and just get pizza. They make an extra thin New York style pizza which was perfect. My pizza could have been cooked longer but everyone elses was nice and brown. Everyone else's pizza was loaded with toppings except for my husband's Italian sausage pizza and my chicken, broccoli, and onion pizza. The chicken is smoked which I've never had before. It definitely has a different flavor. I have no idea how much we paid for my pizza but it could have used double the ingredients. The cheese bread is really good!!! Other than that it's a great place to meet on a weeknight. Not sure how busy or noisy it is on weekend s.”
