“Halfway through a bikeride, stumbled across Fenceline. Turned out to be an excellent place to stop. The beers were great the food was excellent, there was no so-so or low spot. Service was friendly, helpful and there when you needed them. Biking back to the patio at Feneline soon.”

“The food was great. I tried a margarita and it was a little heavy on the mix. I prefer table chips warm, but these were still crispy. It would have been nice to be told that we needed to go up to the register to pay. You don't see the register when you come in because it's tucked on the side of the door out of the way. I really enjoyed the tamales.”

“Absolutely stunning food! We had pavlova, spinach raspberry cake, and a quiche. All of it was amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have all sorts of descriptions of the food on the walls that give a history of the food from Ukraine. As someone from Minnesota, I would come back here just for this place.”

I also have celiac (gluten free) and my wife has a dairy allergy so finding food in town can be a challenge to say the least. In this context, Lockwood truly felt like an oasis of sorts. I want to sincerely thank them for their work to cultivate the space they have and to thank them for giving me hope for the future of Ames itself. I feel truly seen in a positive way for once!”

“This restaurant is my guilty pleasure food to eat. Pancakes are something I would never go to a restaurant for but OHH!!! These pancakes taste like dessert! Everything I’ve tried has been great. Prices are fabulous. Staff are friendly. Service is quick. Haven’t tried the non-breakfast items but why would you when there’s PANCAKES! Only negative is they aren’t open for dinner during the week. Oh and the coffee drinks are great.”

“Good tasty bowls. The only negative is the Shredded Crab is fake and not posted on menu. Pleasant staff and honest when questioned about their crab. Also, I would have preferred the chicken used in the meal would have been freshly grilled. Instead pale processed diced chicken is used. This place could be a goldmine if they just upped their game a bit.”
