“We heard that Double Dipped had good ice cream, so we stopped by to try it for ourselves, and it lived up to the good recommendation! There were over a dozen flavors available, so we first tried a few samples. We then ordered two flavors each (one pairing in a dish, the other in a waffle cone). There are several tables if you're dining in. There are also various smoked meats, honey products, and other locally-made food and gift items in the shop.”
“Wanted to try best burger in iowa. Was a lil too well done and greasy for my taste. Can't tell them u want a medium well. And wait was long. Unfortunately not return worthy for ”
“Brand new menu, much easier to navigate limited hours but fully staffed. Nice clean well-organized facility. And open to the public for dining. Fully stocked bar.”
“Such a fun and positive environment. Even when they are busy they still manage to ask me about my plans for the day and make sure I have a good experience, love it here!”
“Wonderful caterers! At our wedding in WDM they took great care to label gluten free meals and stayed the entire time to set up, keep refreshing things, and clean up. Working with Mike was a pleasure- I wasn't in the state so he set up a tasting with my family and explained everything to them for me. They even make their salads in a certain way to accommodate picky eaters. Definitely give them a try if you're looking for a caterer.”
“The food was great. I tried a margarita and it was a little heavy on the mix. I prefer table chips warm, but these were still crispy. It would have been nice to be told that we needed to go up to the register to pay. You don't see the register when you come in because it's tucked on the side of the door out of the way. I really enjoyed the tamales.”
“So amazingly fresh, clean, and organized every time I am in there.(like LOOK at those vegetables!) The employees are always so sweet and fast and make everything as you ask! Overall amazing service:)!”
“Their street tacos are very flavorful and filling! They are not skimpy with the meat and everything is always made fresh. By far some of the best tacos we’ve ever had!!!!”
“Great place! Great flavor and very generous portions! Was shown this place by a coworker and now am telling everyone I know. Easily one of the best places in iowa for the cuisine style.”
“Was great as usual, but they skipped putting tequila in the margaritas and then charged for a shot to put in..then acted like they couldn't understand me. Come on, I know the economy is rough... but be ”
“It was amazing experience. The food was unique, the cinnamon roll and hallelujah potatoes were comforting. The servings were amazing. The music was ?. Make Ames weird. Will definitely be back to try more things.”
“Only 2 servers but those guys were moving! A little wait but it gave us time to really look at the menu, so much to choose from. My husband had pancakes and I had the Cluck Click Skillet with the side of biscuits and gravy. The food was excellent, my sunny side up eggs were perfection and absolutely the best biscuits and gravy I've had forever. We'll be back tomorrow.”
“I took my daughter there a couple month ago and we both tried diffrent cookies. We both agreed on how beautiful the cookies looked. They were a little bit expensive for a cookie but they were kinda of a big cookies. She thought her cookie tasted great. Ithought my cookie tasted like it was under done. To much like uncooked cookie batter..”
“Today was my first visit, chosen because I liked the sign. I picked a Hawaiian bowl and a mango bubble tea. Generous portions and delicious sauce. The shrimp and crab meat were high quality, the avocados perfectly ripe. Loads of yummy bubbles in my bubble tea. Staff were friendly and fun but also professional and fast. It’s a tiny cute restaurant with inside dining space. A hidden gem of Campus-town. I will be coming back to this place for sure.Vegetarian options: Tofu bowl and also the edamame is a protein option. Corn is mixed in to provide contrast.”
“Very fancy looking with reasonable prices! The food and drinks were DELICIOUS and our waitress was so nice and easy going. We purchased two adult meals, two kids meals and adult beverages. Would highly recommend and we will be back when we are in Ames again!!”
“We went for a day late Valentine’s dinner and was not disappointed! Noah at the bar took care of us and we couldn’t have asked for better service…. Amazing! The chef Steve was very helpful with menu items and both had the best customer service. The food was wonderful and don’t skip dessert…. Delicious!!!”
“absolutely delicious! we had the breakfast crepe, the apple brie crepe, and the banana Nutella crepe for our kiddo! all were absolutely delicious! the drinks are amazing too!”
“Highly recommend checking this place out. Went with a group of 7 and had outstanding customer service. Most of the food was more than generous portion and the taste was amazing. Top Mexican restaurant places I've been too.”
“Step into the London Underground and get ready for a vibe that's classic London pub with a twist. This spot is all about the whiskey and handmade drinks, catering to those who appreciate a quality pour. Now, here's the deal – they've got $1 Gin and Tonics. Yep, you heard that right. It's no wonder the place is buzzing with college crowds and locals looking for a good time without breaking the bank.We swung by on a Thursday night, around 9 pm, and surprisingly scored a table for six without any hassle. Despite the crowd, it had that laid-back atmosphere we all dig.And let me tell you about the drinks. We kicked back with some seriously good Old Fashioneds with the family, soaking in that authentic London pub feel.We were hyped for the Absinthe night coming up, especially since it coincided with my wife's birthday bash. But, unfortunately, plans fell through. That's life, I guess.Overall, if you're after that classic London pub experience with a modern twist, the London Underground is the spot to hit up.Parking: Parking is in the street and shared with other bars and businesses.Wheelchair accessibility: Not really an accessible joint for the wheelchair bound.”
“My wife and I had an amazingly fun time on St Patrick’s Day. The staff were incredibly nice and fun, especially given how busy they were. The entertainment was great! We’ll be back next year! Thank you!!”
“This is the BEST Chinese food I’ve ever eaten, and my best discovery in several years! You’ll notice the quality of ingredients immediately. I have NEVER been disappointed except when they were closed for a much deserved vacation! Fannie and her staff are extremely friendly and accommodating! I’m addicted.”
“We are Cyclones fans, so this is the place to go for all winter sports. (Especially wrestling). Get there early for parking. You may walk a distance to get there from the parking lot. The steps at the south entrance are showing their age and need repair. Interior is great for a sports venue. You may have to navigate a number of stairs, but that is expected in a coliseum.”
“Cute little spot located on Main Street. Fairly priced hard scoop ice cream also delicious drinks and lattes and teas. They have a lot of novelty items as well like jewelry and candles and some mix and match items.I got the mango tajin ice cream and it was so good!”
“Only reason it's 4 stars is the pricing. It's amazing food and always good service but the prices are outrageous for pizza. I'll continue to come when I get the chance to splurge on my family.”
“For me, Time Out is the perfect combination of a retro arcade and karaoke venue. The arcade includes a vintage Street Fighter II cabinet, my favorite game of all time. As a teenager of the early 1990s, I was practically addicted to SFII. I also love to sing and hear the other karaoke performers on Saturday nights. I struggle with social anxiety every day, but I always feel welcome at Time Out, especially on karaoke nights. I don't drink, but Time Out is my favorite local hangout.”
“The dining room was closed for remodeling so the drive thru lanes were packed. However, we spent about 5-10 minutes total between the time we got in line until we got our food. The food was spot-on. The drinks were cold and staff was friendly.”
“We met a friend for Saturday brunch while in the area visiting family another state. It was the perfect breakfast food and great place to catch up with an old friend!”
“We had a baby shower here and ordered a couple dishes off the catering menu. The atmosphere was wonderful and food was great. Plus the staff and owners were excellent to work with before and during! Everyone loved the wine bar set up and options! Would 10/10 recommend for a small (or larger) event and plan on going in general for casual hang outs!”
“This was a splurge meal for someone who is low sodium. It was very well worth it!! They choose the Buffalo on a thin crust. It was delicious and just as expected! We also got The Prairie Special on the Idaho crust. This was our favorite crust! Great flavor and texture! The toppings were a different combo than I had tried before, but I greatly enjoyed them. One of our "meat only" members thought it was their favorite of our 3.The last pizza was all meat except shrimp and chicken on the Denver thick crust with honey. The crust was ok. We normally always get thin crusts, but our sons requested one that wasn't thin crust. The 3 that ate it said it was OK. 2 tried it with the honey, liked it more thinking of it as a crusty bread. I think their opinions on the crust are more about the personal preference/used to thin crust. We got it based on the website, saying it was the most popular. We would personally not get this crust again. I would be interested in trying the oat if we get a thick crust next time. There is nothing wrong with this crust type, just not our preference.Dietary restrictions: We had gluten-free, grain-free people in our group. (The dairy light and low salt people choose to enjoy this meal as a special exception)We ordered 3 different crusts. The Idaho for those with restrictions. We actually felt that was the best of the 3 crusts we ordered. They say it isn't fully gluten-free because it is made in the same kitchen. We don't have anyone with celiac, so I can't speak on how it would affect that. But we didn't have any issues with it. I wish we had ordered the oat crust as our thick option.Parking: We were doing a pick-up at noon on Saturday as college students were coming back from Spring Break. It was busy everywhere, but there were a few spaces around the corner.”
“Exceptional food with a rotating menu, their own incredible beer, ciders, and seltzer's on tap with seasonal options always coming online. The brussels are a must, each visit. I would definitely consider the food a fusion experience, with some classics mixed in, giving everyone something to enjoy. The last visit my wife had Chilaquiles, which I would describe as a Huevos Rancheros mixed with nacho, she let me have some and I will be ordering that next time for sure! My son had the Jam On Flatbread, and I had the Crabrangoon Flatbread, both were incredible! If you're looking for a new place to try check them out.”
