Saw a closers sign in the window but cars parked out front. The door was open and walked in. No one at the bar. Proceeded to walk toward an office to say hello because we heard movement. The lady looked quite surprised to see patrons. I asked if they were open and she said no and that she was about to leave due to low staff. Loved these wines. The staff were very friendly and clearly enjoyed their jobs. Loved discussing the history of the winery and wines with them. The wines run slightly on the sweeter side, but the dry wines were in fact dry (and yummy). Loved the atmosphere too- options for being inside and outside (on a deck overlooking vineyards). They do have light fare food options though I didn't try any of it. Love that their grapes are all estate grown. And it's the oldest winery in Iowa!

We had our wedding and reception at Summerset Winery. They were very easy and flexible to work with through the process. Haley the Evert Coordinator did an outstanding job of planning and organizing our wedding. She was very communicative with us and our vendors. This allowed us to relax and enjoy our special day.

So unfortunately, I am leaving this review as a vendor who has had a terrible experience with one the event coordinators Haley… She reached out regarding her Easter event to provide some fun activities for the guests. I got back to her with the information needed to book with us. I waited for her response and then once she did get back with me, she said she would like to book my services for her event, and then asked me to send out the invoice. I sent that out then, I didn’t receive a deposit within the scheduled time so I gave her the courtesy and called to make sure she was still interested in the services putting other potential customers off just for her because, she did say that she still wanted to go with our services and that she was just waiting on credit card information from the higher-ups or whomever to make the deposit. So I extended her due date for the deposit to secure her date for her. So as time went on that date soon past as well but, by this time, I did schedule some artists for her event being that she confirmed for a 2nd time that she did want to book with me. More time passed and I never received any call or response from any emails or calls that I made just following up to ensure that she was still good to go and I was willing to set aside the deposit as well if that was an issue, but there was never any response or courteous measure on her end to just let me know if she went another direction. I just really think that is unprofessional, and to confirm twice that you are booking with me due to the fact that I did have to let artists know their schedule ahead of time. My artist depend on these events for extra income, and it’s just a shame that the communication is not up to par on a professional level. I could have booked that date with another customer and I felt I was led on by this individual. So my review complaint would be that the staff that I dealt with in regards to being a potential vendor was very unprofessional and will lead you on to believe that you have a verbal contract agreement then break it with no communication or regard for the other party.

Summerset Winery was an absolutely AMAZING place to have a wedding. My wife and I got married there and it was an incredible venue. Hayley, the event coordinator, was an absolute dream to work with and she saved the day multiple times during the ceremony and reception. She was very on top of everything during the rehearsal and day of and we knew we could always rely on her to get anything we needed done. The staff overall was so relaxed, accommodating, and gave excellent service. I highly recommend renting out the inn for the weekend. It was a great place to hang out and relax and it served as a good getting ready spot as well. We had a big wedding party which made it all the better because we filled the inn entirely. Overall having our wedding at Summerset was easily one of the best moves we made!

Summerset staff were very helpful throughout the process. We stayed at the Inn on the property with family, which was beautiful. We would do it all over again. Cannot say enough great things!
We attended my niece's wedding at Summerset this past weekend. What a wonderful venue! Everything was beautiful and classy. The staff was superb... friendly, capable, and so nice. Tasted 2 of their wines which were both delicious. Thank you for making my niece's dream wedding a reality.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Summerset Winery more!!! It was everything we dreamed of and our wedding day was so beautiful! The coordinators were friendly, flexible, and so enjoyable to work with. The barn patio and tent were perfect for our wedding and fit all of our guests (250+) comfortably! The INN on the property was the ideal place for our friends and family to stay and added a “weekend retreat” feel to everything!! Summerset Winery worked super hard to give our wedding every extra touch to be so beautiful! Booking with them was the best wedding planning choice we made… I know we’ll keep coming back to visit for many years!!!
