For a small town escapade away from Hinterland, this upscale restaurant with amazing food checked all the boxes. The British Isle fanfare and freshness of the Chimichuiri Salmon was savored in every bite. When the Uber pickup looked dire, Bob said he was just leaving and gave us a ride! That’s the kind of hospitality that can only be described as Iowa.

We had an amazing meal at the Groggy Dog, but the atmosphere and engaging staff made the pub feel like home. We were in Indianola for the Indianola Balloon Festival, and both the owner and our server had great advice and made us feel extremely welcome. We highly recommend the Groggy Dog to everyone, since they have a wide range of food AND wonderful beer options as well.

Stopped at the Groggy Dog for lunch on my way through town. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Got the portobello burger and fries and it was delicious, seasoned perfectly. Also got refreshing local brew to complement a great lunch, would definitely recommend!

This time I placed an order to go mid-afternoon, was fast, easy, and delicious. Wish I could have stayed to have some irish beer but I was on a time constraint. Will always try to visit this place when I am in town! I ordered 2 scotch eggs.

Recently came back just a week later after my first return trip since new ownership. This time I had the Sheppard's pie. I did not think the original recipe could be improved but I was wrong, It was phenomenal.

The shepherd's pie is what originally drew me to this place under while still under Pryor ownership, came back tonight after eating there just 2 days ago, under the new owner and the shepherd's pie is a whole nother level it was absolutely amazing 10 out of 10, hands down best shepherd's pie.
