Recently came back just a week later after my first return trip since new ownership. This time I had the Sheppard's pie. I did not think the original recipe could be improved but I was wrong, It was phenomenal.

unfortunately I couldn't do another Google review because I recently did one for this place. The shepherd's pie is what originally drew me to this place under while still under Pryor ownership, came back tonight after eating there just 2 days ago, under the new owner and the shepherd's pie is a whole nother level it was absolutely amazing 10 out of 10, hands down best shepherd's pie.

The food is great (looove the fish and chips), the atmosphere is refreahing, and the employees have always been nice, especially the owner, Bob!

We just stopped in for a drink , but it's a super cool place with a really cool menu.

We ordered a burger, it was good and a nice sized sandwich, cheese sticks were really good and a rueben which was so-so. It didn't have much corned beef on it, especially compared to the burger, there was hardly any sauerkraut so I asked for more and received a small plastic condiment container with a little more in it. Not a very well put together sandwich. When I walked in there was a faint grease smell in the air not what I expected from a place that has more of a restaurant vibe then a bar.

We were traveling through Indianola and needed a nice lunch so we stopped here for lunch around noon Saturday. We had been here back last year when the current owners took over and had really good bloody Mary's and an experimental prime rib sandwich. That day everything was great, unfortunately it seems things have gone downhill.

Arrived and it took probably 15 minutes for our server to come ask if we wanted drinks. The place wasn't busy, but she appeared to be the only one there. When she did come around we primarily ordered waters, a single beer, and 1 soda. There were 6 of us. We ordered some apps at that time too. Nothing crazy, onion rings and fries.

Took 10 more minutes for drinks to arrive with apps. 6 dollars for maybe 15 fries. Onion rings were OK, but nothing to write home about.

Placed orders for food a few minutes later. Couple burgers, couple orders of chicken sandwiches, and a couple chicken tender orders.

Food took probably 40 minutes to come out. During this time we watched one table get up and leave because no one had come to take their order. At this point it was only us, one other 6 top, and a few people at the bar.

Food arrived and it was inedible. The chicken sandwiches were so tough and dry that a knife could not cut them. The chicken tenders had a fish and chips batter coating and had been overly fried to the point of being rubber. I split a burger with another guest because I spit out the only bit of chicken tender I had.

We got through what we could and the server came around to collect our mostly full plates. She seemed new so I'll give her same grace as she was very kind, but inexperienced. She did not ask if there were any issues.

Normally I would say something but the owner was seated at the bar and it sounded like he was the one cooking too. I did not feel comfortable sharing anything as I was not sure it would go well based on how he was acting and we weren't sure if he was also drinking at the bar.

Packed up and left hungry but feeling sick at the same time. Not sure if the cook quit or what happened but the food and service left a lot to be desired.

Since Bob took over - we have never had a bad experience. He is PASSIONATE about good food. He skips the frozen bar food and spends HOURS every day getting in the kitchen to prep all of the fresh veggies, meat, and other items. Sauces are made from scratch! With fresh herbs.
I highly recommend Sunday brunch as well! Holy smokes. We brought family and each got something different- everyone loved their food.
Tonight we had a burger and fish and chips + a side salad. That fresh ranch 🤤.
I didn’t get a photo of the dessert but you will love that too!

We love going here! The owner really does put pride into every meal he serves! The amount of beers (Fosters is the best) on tap is great. I would recommend this place to everyone! I would recommend the Guinness Stew and the Bread and Butter pudding for dessert!

Easily one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Their ranch is house made and has dill in it. My wife had the Reuben and she loved it. They were out of the Guinness Stew and Shepherd’s Pie but we were told that right when the server sat us down which was good. We’ll have to come again to try those. All in all definitely worth the money!

Good selection of beers on tap and a nice selection of NA beers in cans. Owner and bartender were very friendly. Food sounds delicious but we did not have time to try any.
