This past Sunday, October 20, 2024 was my first time being there. It was a long 30 minute wait, but was well worth it. I had the green chili sauce, eggs, and polenta with a side of hash browns per the recommendation of our waiter Alex. The service, coffee, toast and the food was phenomenal. I expected just a basic American style fare. I was pleasantly surprised. We purchased a dark roast bag of the Bluebird coffee beans and I wish I could take a bottle or a jar of that green...
I woke up this morning with a craving for biscuits and gravy. Like anyone, I searched "best biscuits and gravy in Iowa City" to which I was presented with Bluebird. I rode my bicycle down this morning and I have to say, it did not disappoint. The line was practically out the door, however I was by myself and was able to be seated at the bar immediately. The staff seems very young, which brings a lively and refreshing vibe to the establishment. My service was fantastic....
