I thought I had posted this review , so it’s long overdue. We had my daughters baby shower in the private room upstairs in April of 2022. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating with us. The fee for the space was very reasonable and only required a minimum food & beverage purchase. They allowed us to arrive early to decorate and to bring in our own dessert. We had a lovely spread of salads and sandwiches and the staff was attentive but never in the way. This a terrific venue for a small gathering, we had 25 people.

A friend from Napa looking for a winery suggested I stop by and case the place, and he was right. Fine selection of wines and cheese. Recommend the Kim Cheese and Fools Spring Salad. Excellent patio seating for peep watching!

Light lunch - I had a brie cheese board and husband had pastrami and pickle sandwich with a cup of french onion soup. Also bought 2 bottles of red wine for home. Excellent meal and cozy surroundings. Historic neighborhood with shops and other restaurants nearby. We’ll be back!

The minestrone soup is very hearty and delicious, and heavy on hint of tomato ?The salmon grilled cheese sandwich is unique, and the bread is grilled crisp, almost like coutons, very deliciuos.
Great cheese and meat selection. We stayed in the airbnb loft owned by the owner. Great experience, food and housing was great.

Brix is always a great place to relax and breathe, gather with friends, and enjoy great wine and other drinks. Wonderful environment!

If you like grilled cheese sandwiches, you'll like Brix. It's a great little cheese and wine specialty shop on the north edge of University of Iowa campus. Charcuterie boards of meats and cheeses are tops there. But we love their grilled cheese sandwiches. I ordered the Savory, $13, with Gruyere, Maytag blue, fig-wine jam and quince-onion spread. What a mouth delight, put in a panini press and crispy on the outside. My hubs ordered the Ham and Brie, $14, applewood smoked ham, brie, and quince-onion spread. He loved it. I thought mine was the better of the two sandwiches, but he thought his was. He also had a bowl of yummy tomato red pepper soup, $3. Then we finished our lunch with Mascarpone Panna Cotta, red wine syrup and crushed pistachios, $8. Delicious. Our server was Emma B, friendly and helpful. There's outside seating for good weather visits. We want to go back soon.

Me and my boyfriend love this place! The staff is so friendly and helpful, always willing to give suggestions and giving great ones. Everything we have had from Brix has been fantastic and even being a little pricey, we always want to come back again!
