Brothers Bar & Grill

The blonde bartender called two of my friends racial slurs (the n word). I’ve heard brothers is racist and about this bartender in particular before (dumping drinks on guys, calling girls ghetto) but this was pretty bad. All this to get paid $4 at a small town bar. Will be speaking to the owner but just a heads up. Lol.

Rosie's conduct is professionally unacceptable. Following a single $4 round of service where no tip was provided, she verbalized her grievance and subsequently refused further service. Most critically, she committed financial fraud by unilaterally adding a tip to the transaction and overcharging the credit card. This establishment employs staff who retaliate against customers and engage in unauthorized financial transactions. Avoid.

A group of friends and I came to a bar crawl all the way from Wisconsin and though they were part of the bar crawl, we still got charged a $20 cover. So after waiting in line for over an hour, we turned back around and went to another bar. Very dissapointing and ruined our Iowa City experience

Rosie the bartender screamed at me when she gave me my change and I didn’t even have a moment before she started accusing me of being the type of person that never tips. I ordered 3, $1 drinks which apparently really upset her. She proceeded to yell at me in front of all of my friends and say that I am a terrible person because she works for $4 an hour and doesn’t get much money except for tips. This was maybe one moment after I got my change, I didn’t even have a chance to pull out money to tip her before she began yelling at me and became hostile. I love this bar, but this makes me and my friends not want to come back. We finished our drinks and immediately left.

Brothers is THE place in IOWA CITY ! Was back in town since graduating last year and gosh I miss that place so much . Had a great bartender named Zach and he was just so dope the whole night 🥵 the music was aight but nevertheless bartending and vibe there is nothing short of brilliant !🤑 if you haven’t been what are you doing ! Go live a little !

Came here to get some drinks with friends, and everything was outstanding! The bartender Zach was phenomenal, and super quick making drinks, even when the place started to pick up. Highly highly recommend Zach for all of your bartending needs at Brothers!
