FANTASTIC they have THE BEST pastries in Iowa City right now. The real deal. PLUS they make an effort to stay covid safe. I wish the customers would respect the same. Will go back again and again.
The food here is truly authentic Mediterranean food. I highly recommend it. To those new to this style of food, start with a shawirma sandwich. It is made with love and care. This place has the best one in town and serves as a great introduction to the amazing dishes made here!
The food here was absolutely delicious. I got a dish with lamb meat in it and the meat had so much flavor to it. Cut fresh before being made. Would highly recommend and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Excellent food! We had the shawarma with rice and a gyro with an apple turnover and a cherry Danish for desert. All was great! The owners are very nice and friendly. Definitely will be back!
I can't help but wonder if these reviews are bought? Our experience was not good. We ordered about $55 worth of food - a little of everything - and didn't like a single thing. The hummus and lamb were flavorless. The Zatar bread was hard and stale. We got a cookie that tasted like a cookie you'd get packaged at the gas station. Another dessert smelled so strongly like a harsh cleaning product that we were afraid to try it. We will not be back.
So so delicious! As an Iraqi Arab myself, the food is perfectly AUTHENTIC and tasty!! I highly recommend for all those in Iowa City to try if you want a genuine taste of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. I don’t think there’s anywhere else quite like it in the area. The place just opened up and is a great choice for lunch and/or picking up dinner. I plan on going on a regular basis now!Pictured is the kabob on rice meal with hummus and Mediterranean salad… extremely filling and very reasonable price! 10/10!!! It reminds me of home :) the baklawa is also delicious!!
We had the lamb Kabab and and the lamb swarma and the kunafa. The swarma was flavorful and the kunafa was perfectly soft and melting in mouth. We will come back again to try other items.
Amazing food and atmosphere! The owner is so sweet and always willing to chat. This restaurant has the best falafel in town. I love bringing my friends there and bringing back some baklava to share with my coworkers. I can't wait to go back!
Falafel was really good, baklava carefully and well made. Hummus is good and consistent. Friendly staff and great service!
Have eaten here several times. Very good bakery items and the sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

The food taste are amazing it’s still in my mouth. Definitely I’ll come back to this restaurant.
Found this store by accident. The owner is so friendly. Food is yummy. Family restaurant run by two people
Amazing experience. Owner was very nice and helpful in explaining all the choices, even sat down and had a great conversation with us.Food itself was great. I had the lamb kebab with rice and hummus. The hummus was definitely the spotlight. My only peeve would probably be the prices, but it was still worth it in my opinion.Would highly recommend!
We stopped by for the bakery but stayed for the great Mediterranean food! We now have a source for homemade hummus, and we are looking forward to trying all the other sit-down meal options next. They have a great outdoor patio as well. We will be back for more!
This is a wonderful place to eat. The food is better than any Mediterranean I've ever tasted. My husband who is afraid of new food loved every bit if his Kabob. ai had the Chicken Shawarma with bread. It was so very good! The Family running this business is delightful.
