First time dining since the remodel, and it's even better than I remember. Food is pure comfort and exactly what you'd expect from a greasy spoon, but with the added flair of truly fresh avocado, amazing pulled pork, and deliciously crispy hash browns. Maybe a smidge crowded, but worth the squeeze for the amazing food and great service. Will be back for sure.

Always an IOWA-CITY staple when it comes to breakfast food, but the two people that were with me (my folks) couldn't stop raving about their burgers! They weren't loaded with over the top ingredients or anything like that but just a really good, juicy and tasty burger. Love taking out of towners to this place because it shows SO much history as to where Iowa falls in presidential elections and what candidates have gone there and supported this Iowa City staple.

The apple pie shake was absolutely fabulous. The service was wonderful. My waitress Emily was amazing and attentive. I had a great experience here and will be going back soon.

We went to the Hamburg Inn last night for the first time since it reopened. The food was phenomenal (maple pecan pie shake, breakfast wrap, eggs benedict); the service was fantastic; the atmosphere was amazing. The food was fresh, hot, and flavorful; our server, Brooke, was warm, friendly, and energetic; and the restaurant was charmingly decorated (love the retro diner vibe), clean, and had perfect lighting (warm and soft, flattering lighting, not too bright).

The food was really good. I got a spicy Sweet pork French toast meal (can't remember the name right now.) The pork just absolutely melted in your mouth and the sauce that was on it had a small kick but not enough to burn. The French toast was pretty good too. My partner got the breakfast birria tacos and those were pretty good too, but be warned. If you have stomach problems, the consume/sauce they use will not be your friend. It's a small little place and it feels a little cramped but still worth a visit!
First time visiting this iconic place. The service was great, and the nostalgia was obviously significant to the atmosphere. It's kind of small but it was worth the visit!

First time back since the remodel/reopening and was so happy to be greeted by the same cozy charm and feel that I remember from Hamburg Inn. The light is warmer, it's very welcoming, and the place is cleaner than what it's been the last 5 years. Had a delicious skillet with a brunch cocktail. Very flavorful and filling. Prices have gone up a bit and the menu is smaller, but still reasonable and plenty of options. Staff was great and will definitely be back!
