I wanted to love this place but I didn’t have the best experience! I arrived at about 6pm and I ordered my food. The lady said it would be 20mins. There were several black people in the restaurant along with a Asian guy with a little boy . I saw SEVERAL black women get their food before me that hadn’t been waiting. I thought maybe they had pre ordered but after seeing them get their plates then pay I felt as if she servered them before the Asian man and I. The food was GREAT .. chicken… spaghetti and collard greens but my TIME is important! I was LATE to work bc I was given a 20min wait and it turned more into an hour! I felt uncomfortable since I felt as if I wasn’t being served while other people were coming and going! She did try to compensate me for my time by adding extra chicken to my plate but overall I probably won’t be back! I felt a little discriminated against honestly .

Food was great! I got chicken Mac n Yams. I was from out of town. Googled food near me and this place popped up. Walked in ordered. People in there were a vibe. Conversed a bit while waiting for my food. Some lady with her daughter was there asked where I was from. She was bad too. Not sure if she works there. I should’ve gotten her number. Overall will come back again when I’m back in town for work!

I order take-out delivery from this place often. It is undoubtedly is fire, no ifs or buts. Simple, honest straightforward soul food that hits when you want it to. IC needs more places like this

I’m amazed at all the positive reviews this restaurant has gotten, since we had a terrible experience at lunch today. We arrived at about 1:20 pm and waited for our food for nearly an hour. We overheard an employee tell another table that the deep fryer oil hadn’t ever been turned on. Every now and then someone would tell us “3 more minutes!” Or “They’re plating yours right now!” Untrue. When the food finally came, I expected a good meal, at least, but it was poor. The pork chop was very dry, hard and overcooked. The fried cabbage was overcooked to a slurry. The corn on the cob was partly warm to the touch but the cob was ice cold underneath, like it had been frozen and cooked insufficiently. No condiments were brought, no butter for cornbread or corn. We were only offered hot sauce. My husband asked for tartar sauce for his fish but there wasn’t any, again offered hot sauce. Knives were asked for but there weren’t any. I’ve been a home cook for my family for 40+ years and I could’ve produced a nice meal out of this simple menu easily, as could many cooks. Someone had absolutely no idea how to prepare that food. We won’t return and can’t recommend this eatery to others.

The food was all perfectly cooked and flavored. Me and my husband both had the catfish platter and it was the best I’ve ever had. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and very sweet. The atmosphere was amazing, good music and the staff singing along made it much more enjoyable.
