Sumo Sushi Bar & Grill

My husband and I love this place!!! Always a great experience and the best sushi we have had since being in Iowa.

I stopped by this place during a road trip and ordered the grilled salmon and a sushi combo. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall.

The water they served had a very strong bleach smell, which was unpleasant. The salmon was undercooked in the middle, so I had to send it back to the kitchen to be cooked again. The sushi, especially the tuna, had a strong fishy taste, so I couldn’t finish it. The floors were sticky and made a loud noise with every step, which made me question the cleanliness of the place especially for handling raw fish.

On a positive note, the cooked rolls were okay, and the rice had a nice texture.

Since eating here, I’ve been suffering from an upset stomach and diarrhea throughout my trip. If you’re reading this review, I’d recommend considering a different sushi restaurant.

I went to Sumo on a whim with my friend, and it was a nice time out. I got the Las Vegas Sushi Burrito (I was intrigued since I hadn't heard of a sushi burrito before), and it was a sushi roll served within a seaweed wrap. My friend got the Spider Roll. We both enjoyed our meals. Payton, our server, was great! It was a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could enjoy a nice night and hold conversation.

Such nice people and a beautiful restaurant. Food looks amazing and taste as such. They are so nice and add extra things to dish if asked!

the food is always so amazing and never disappoints!! the staff is always super friendly and willing to give their opinion on what’s the best. way better than formosa in my opinion, so many options and unique rolls!

I had the spices tuna roll and dragon roll my wife had the shrimp tempura roll and the Las Vegas roll. All were outstanding and cured the blind. The ramen was amazing and filled our bellies

The sushi rolls and burritos I got were tasty and filled me up. Both were affordable.

Beautiful restaurant amazing service, delicious food. Kani salad is a must try.
