The staff was welcoming and attentive and the bartender was exceptionally skilled, crafting some of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted!
What really stood out was the attention to detail. From the creative drink garnishes to the cozy seating arrangements, it’s clear that The Green House puts thought into every aspect of the experience.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a night out with friends, a date night, or even just a relaxing solo drink. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

The owner, Emily Salmonson (sp?), has created an inviting and cozy neighborhood spot that easily transfers from coffee hangout to classy bar.
You're telling me I can bring in outside food and get a cheap ($4) and delicious rose lemonade while soaking in their atmosphere? It's been so fun to get to know all of the bartenders too; they're attentive and make you feel at home. Claire (red hair) and Emmie (longer brown hair) are standouts, though everyone who works there rocks. Emily knows how to hire people!
I've been to two wedding receptions here, and multiple book clubs and other community events. Bring your sketchbook, homework, a friend, or the corners of your mind, and be surrounded by good energy. A bastion !

Custom drinks are pricey but are specially crafted, so it makes sense. Excellent place to meet with friends and be able to hear each other, or just read a book. Very accommodating to game nights, and they organize their own game night with games and snacks on Wednesdays!

The lounge has a really pretty theme, the drinks were good, but the bartenders were unpleasant. They made the atmosphere uninviting and hostile by making jokes about Gen X while talking politics. I wouldn't recommend or go back.

The best cocktail bar in Iowa city. Everyone that works here is so incredibly kind and talented. The cocktails are the best I've ever had in IC. If you're going to see a movie at Filmscene it's almost a crime to not stop by and get a pre or post movie drink. Few things cure a bad day like ordering a Ripley and sitting on their patio.
