“Four of us had a piping hot meal that was spot-on for flavor and ingredients. Service couldn’t have been better, and the restaurant itself was immaculate as well as handicapped accessible. We’ll be returning....where we all wore masks and were socially distanced. Hot, smooth tea!“

“The food is amazing, especially the Lo Mein! It is very authentic and delicious. The staff are so kind, welcoming, and give you a speedy service, especially Haven. She always has a huge smile and makes you feel so welcomed. They really make you feel like family and give you the most delicious food ever!
Dietary restrictions: They have plenty of vegetarian options. I would recommend the vegetable fried rice or vegetable lo mein.“

“Huge portions, lots of meat. Very, very good service. Friendly, greeted when I walked in. The vibe is similar to Chipotle. They made mine fresh upon ordering. The egg roll is giant (not my favorite). I saw some reviews saying the portions aren’t big. I got the jr. bowl, and I could not begin to eat it all. It’s a lot of food. I got noodles instead of rice. I ate inside, and it was very clean with nice, current music playing and a tv. There are a couple of tables outside.“

“Lunch at 11- order at counter. Simple and easy to understand menu. Gal at register super nice and helpful. It was my first time eating in.
Had the shrimp teriyaki with a salad. Salad was awesome- simply because it had more than lettuce! Broccoli, edamam, red onion, carrots...yay. The shrimp was overcooked, but still a good dish. I should have done fried rice, forgot how boring white rice is. Also did the scarlet sushi roll. A little spice, not too much. Had crab on top and I forgot what fish in the middle. Tasty.
Had my food in 5 minutes. Clean space. Plenty of seating for a quick lunch. Miss of booths, tables, high top. Parking a little tight and I missed the entrance the first time around. My fault.
$25 before tip. I had enough food for 2 meals, so that isn't too bad. Will visit again.“

“My husband and I visited Hawkers Kitchen on 11/22 and loved it! We had the shrimp pancakes, egg tart, roti John sandwich, gochujang sandwich and strawberry boba fizz drink. Everything was delicious and made to order. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They have lifetime customers now. :-)“

“We don’t usually pick chain restaurants but this one is an exception. Great food, service, atmosphere & location. We come here every time we come to Des Moines shopping. Never disappoints! Pictured is the lettuce wraps. My favorite dish! Served as an appetizer but enough food to make it a meal.“

“Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Des Moines but hands down the BEST Asian food around! Been eating here almost 10 yrs and never been disappointed. One of the best vegan/vegetarian options too! Their tofu is the best crispy fried I’ve ever had! Also great quality meat as well! Cannot go wrong with any dish here! My favs are the spring rolls and Evil chicken!“

“The food is amazing takes like a 1min to cook it. and the atmosphere is pretty good they have tvs that will play football if it’s on at the bar. The workers are nice and friendly from my experience and when I went the worker was watching the game and her team lost. It was very funny. Overall the whole building is nice and inexpensive. Totally recommend.
Kid-friendliness: Nothing inappropriate or violent and staff is friendly.“

“We tried Fong’s for the first time based on a few recommendations. I had to try the Crab Rangoon pizza, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It was good, but could use more cream cheese umptiousness as it felt kind of dry. Our service was great, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was cozy and unique.“
