People gather to celebrate life events, enjoy the weekend, let off steam, or just get out and socialize.The dartboard and pool table in the back are very popular. The crowd enjoys the occasional live music act. When the music's not live, the jukebox plays. There is a little something for almost everybody on this idyllic Main Street in Malvern, Iowa. People are really friendly, making The Hangout a great place to stop and grab a drink.”

“When I come home to visit family, we typically don't make it out to Tabor during the Brew House's open hours. But this time we did. I have been there only once before because my sister in law is a frequent flyer there. I had a seasonal drink this time (oh my gourd) which was pumpkin pie and mocha and it was SO good. I got it with oat milk which makes it so creamy. I also get half flavor everywhere I go. My husband and I get local coffee in every town we visit We've been all across the country and I will say, hands down, the best latte I've had. I am guilty of never finishing the last 1/8 of my drink, but I drank every last drop. The flavor of the espresso itself came out. I get half flavor so I can taste the espresso. And it is quality beans for sure. It was so good that I wanted to stop and get another one before we departed (only an hour later). I refrained, but I will crave this until I can travel cross- country to have it again!”

“Driving through Tabor, IA today and we were thinking about stopping for ice cream somewhere and happened across Shakey Grounds! It's even better on the inside! Cute inside, super clean, friendly employees and our icecream was great! Definitely recommend it!”

“The food is amazing and from scratch. It's hard for me to walk in and not get nachos. Simply amazing! Home made Nacho chips with scads of amazing toppings. We eat here at least 2x a month. Quite atmosphere and appears to have lots of take out orders. Rarely anyone seated inside. Not open until after 4 pm.”

“I've been going on the Thursday "taco ride" to Tobey Jack's Mineola Steak House for tacos and margaritas regularly for about 10 years. We also always stop in while on multi-day bikepacking trips and other group rides on the trail. I really enjoy the overall atmosphere and especially love it when they have live music outside on the patio. If they could up their bean taco game, I would visit even more! Thanks for being such a staple of southwest Iowa for so long and giving riders a great destination on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail every day. Here's to many more years of taco rides!”
