We were in town for a baseball tournament and wanted to eat some where local. This spot was amazing. The food was all spectacular. I had the Pork Belly ramen bowl - it was knee weakeningly phenomenal. Literally one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The baked cheese is great. My 17 year old son had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and wolfed it down.
I highly recommend this spot. The atmosphere and vibe is really unique - creates a cool different experience versus just a generic national chain restaurant.

Very different menu. Definitely not ordinary. 2nd time going was not the best. The menu is limited and lunch was nothing short of disappointing. The salad was boring and pot stickers were dry and hard. Nice atmosphere but .... your menu needs an overhaul.

Slow service. It took 20 minutes to get our 1st drink... then, 31 minutes from the time we sat down for the waitress come over to get our food order. So, I just took the bill for our drinks because I had doubts on how long it would take to actually receive food to the table.

Wow! We were blown away by our service at The Hip-Stir. This was a random road trip stop for us after 5 hours of driving and it was the best thing we could have done for ourselves. The design of the restaurant was so fun and inviting. The staff were welcoming and kind. We were a little worried about taking our overtired toddler in but they took care of him right away! He was given a colorpad, a water, and our waiter put in his order before we even sat down! His food was out before he could get fussy! The main menu was easy to view and clearly marked for dietary needs. All the food was amazing! We were devastated that we could not take our leftovers. The locals eating next to us said we picked the right place to stop and by gosh were they right! While we won't be in Iowa often, we will certainly be back the The Hip'Stir the next time we roll through town.

Come ask Isaiah about the Efiel Tower in The Smoking Tower Experience.. 10 outta 10 coolest bar in Marion. The vibes are immaculatly concepted and swimming in delicious bone broth. Also Lexi with bangs 4'11 is my favorite on earth come for 1/2 off wine Wednesday and have the day ever !

Purely reviewing the ramen; everything was almost perfect until I realized they were using spaghetti instead of ramen noodles. Still passable, lots of people would enjoy, but spaghetti pasta just doesn’t have the same advantages for ramen. Flavor is missing and it doesn’t absorb the broth as well.
My quest for good ramen continues.. but still great and definitely will suffice for many.
