I stopped in one evening to have a couple of drinks. The bar is clean and looks very nice. I wish I could say I had a great time but the red headed bartender that was working seemed absolutely useless. She saw me come in and take a seat at the bar but instead of coming to wait on me she sat down and made someone else who was working in the kitchen take my order. The music, bartenders, owner, the drinkers, etc. are all horrible. This bar hasn’t been the same since the previous owner sold it to VJ. I wouldn’t recommend this bar for anyone. I hope they realize they won’t ever have positive comments about this place either.
I’ve seen several kids, SEVERAL years younger than me go to this bar or even next door, The Liquor store he also owns, get alcohol and vape products.

if i could leave a negative star review i would. for starters the new owner VJ is EXTREMELY disrespectful, racist, cocky, and overall just isn’t a good person.
selling alcoholic beverages in the bar and the liquor store next door to underaged kids is frowned upon. surprised he hasn’t gotten shut down yet…might want to watch out for that VJ.
for anyone visiting Monticello iowa, i’d recommend you stay far away from this horrible place, and take your business elsewhere....read full review
