The food here is very good, it's obvious the chefs are skilled and passionate. The staff is friendly, you can tell they really care about the quality of the experience. Don't skip the carnitas!
This might be the best sit-down Mexican restaurant I've been to in the lowa City area, especially compared to others that have been fairly disappointing. We visited during lunchtime on a weekday, and the space was clean, spacious, and cutely decorated, with plenty of seating options across different areas. The service was attentive, but there weren't many people in at that time.

Had the 3 Star Skillet with pancakes off their breakfast menu. Best pancakes in a restaurant- skillet was delicious. Portion sizes are huge. Waitress was great, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
