“Sushiya Japanese was such a random road trip find for us and honestly turned out to be a hidden gem. We ended up stopping there during a work trip and it was so good that we’ve now gone back again when passing through the area.

The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, the rolls were creative without being overcomplicated, and everything we tried was excellent. You can tell they really care about quality and presentation. It’s one of those smaller places that completely surprises you once the food comes out.

The atmosphere is also really nice and relaxed, and the service has been great both times we’ve gone. Friendly staff, quick service, and consistently amazing food.

Definitely one of those places you wouldn’t expect to randomly find on a road trip, but once you do, you remember it and want to stop again every time you’re nearby. Total hidden gem.”

“Tried this restaurant for the first time, Nate was our server & he was the best! He answered our questions on menu items & was very attentive. The mushroom squash pizza was amazing & the side salad that comes with it was a nice added freshness! We will definitely be back again to try more menu items!”

“I had the U-The-Chef omelette. I like that they offer egg whites as a substitute for whole eggs. I am vegetarian and noticed that you can get a vegetarian patty as a substitute for ground beef patties. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!”

“Came for the first time yesterday. This is our new favorite! We drove from an hour away. Chips and salsa in the best we’ve ever had! Wait staff was nice and all other food was full of flavor and had great portions! It’s also really cool inside with the murals and flowers! We can’t wait to come back!”

The frosting is buttery and silky, and the cake is moist and absolutely delicious. You would never know it's vegan! Andy is SO friendly and accommodating to whatever needs you may have. “We visited Caribou Coffee in North Liberty with a large group of teenagers, coaches and parents. The staff were very patient, quick and courteous. “As a former professional brewer and certified beer judge, I can honestly say that the beer at Field Day is as good as it gets. I sampled many of the lagers and IPA’s, and all were excellent. The Czech Pils was my favorite. The food is also great. We sampled the egg rolls and gyro loaded fries. Service was excellent. There were a couple of beer order snafus, but our server, Madi, made it right. The Iowa City area craft beer scene is great, and Field Day is at the top of my list. Great food, beer and service. And the atmosphere is really good, too.”

“We don't live in the area, but camp down here at least once a year. We decided to grab pizza because when we got set up, it was almost dark & drive by this place every time we come down. Boy am I sad we waited this long to try it! The staff was so nice & the food was fantastic. Next year I'm only getting breadsticks for myself.. they were fantastic! We highly recommend!”

“Thank you so much for being open on Thanksgiving and taking online orders! Iowa City businesses were all closed but thanks to this establishment, we were able to get two hot steak dinners for an affordable price and they were good. The temp requested for the steak was med-rare and they nailed it. I do wish they had called about being out of green beans before substituting corn since one of us does not eat corn, but this is Iowa. Iowa loves corn.

The good experience with our delivery has made us interested in visiting in person. Even though the food took longer to deliver due to our original dasher canceling, it was still warm too! Everything was packaged really well, portioned well, and they even sent wet naps.

“Selection and cleanliness are both great but the reason I wanted to review was actually for the mother’s room- it is my first time using one provided by HyVee and it was so nice! It was private and comfortable. There was a place to nurse, change the diaper and wash hands all in one place. It was unexpectedly very nice and I am grateful. We were able to get our groceries AND take care of our four month old 💕”
