“I flew in from Alabama for my boyfriend's fraternity formal and this is where we all had dinner. I had a great experience here and could not have picked a better place for the event! The food was fantastic and all of the servers did such a great job the whole night by providing our group with excellent service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great and was located right by the river so we could take some nice pictures there. I would highly recommend Tin Roost to anyone for an event or even just for dinner. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town!“

“Joseph's is all about the experience. Each table is made private by sheer curtains that make the meal much more private than a typical restaurant. The servers are knowledgeable and happy to recommend a special or guide your food selection. Though the meals are a touch on the pricy side, this restaurant seems to be mostly reserved for a special occasion. Food options are typical for a high end steakhouse and many steaks follow a market price rather than described price. The French onion soup was some of the best I've had with a great ratio of broth to onion to cheese. It was a bit salty but certainly warmed up a cold march night. Originally I ordered the ribeye filet but was given a full ribeye at no additional charge. The steak was cooked to perfection and was delicious. With dessert options so board, everyone at the table will want to share a bite. The bread pudding was warm and flavorful. It came with a side of vanilla ice cream which helped to add moisture to the affair. Over all, great experience and I will definitely be back soon“

“First time trying Orchard Green and the food was delicious! They have a nice ambience upstairs as others have mentioned. We were a party of 4 and ordered the focaccia, walleye fish, halibut, roasted bison and the filet. I was debating between the scallops and bison and decided on the bison which was so good! It was a lot of food and I was so stuffed. The server we had was good. He was an older gentleman and he was attentive. It can get busy here but you can also make a reservation online. There is free valet parking where you drive to the back entrance and park right in front of the door and someone will come out. Apparently, they park your car where they can find a spot as well. We ended up doing street parking so you have to pay for meter unless you find free parking a few blocks away. Free parking in downtown Iowa City is harder to come by these days for those folks who are used to free parking in the outskirts of Iowa City.“

They did it rare just the way I like it on the first try. Bison meatball app was killer, totally a vibe. I'm so glad we did, because it was absolutely worth it in the end! We were seated at the bar, which we didn't mind, as the seats were comfy. Friendly and very attentive staff. They have a good selection of beer on tap including IPA’s. Nice and cold in a chilled true pint. Bravo! We ordered the “All you can eat shrimp” and Tenderloin. The shrimp is butterflied and nicely breaded. Comes with fries and coleslaw. I try to stay away from fried food, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not greasy at all. The shrimp was perfect. Flavor, texture and presentation. They serve in tin pie plates, which I found as a nice change from the typical plastic baskets with a paper liner beneath. My husband ordered the tenderloin. In his opinion, the best he’s had anywhere (with the exception of my own hand breaded pork loin)… The service was exceptional. Skylar was prompt in seeing that our drinks were filled and the shrimp kept a coming. We left, comfortably full. And not to forget…Karaoke every other Friday with Mike! And he starts up at 7pm. We will definitely go back. Odie’s is easy to find and only about 10-15 minutes from Cedar Rapids.Parking: There is parking right in front on both sides of the street. “Our family group picked this place for lunch after the little ones had some fun at the Children's museum. From the moment we walked in the door, all of the staff was cheery and friendly.They have a great outdoor area, but it was a little windy, so we ate inside. The menu selection was great from you normal 'brew pub' food. Our order ran from beet salad, lamb meatballs, chicken bacon rolls, to a Poke bowl. The littlest one wanted apple sauce (which we didn't see on the menu) and they were happy to accommodate.The atmosphere inside and out was great as was all of the food. Definitely a place to try if you want to sit outside and enjoy the weather or inside of the weather conditions aren't great. Go check it out!“

I substitute the potatoe salad for French fries, and it's really good.I would recommend this place 11 times out of 10 over that 5 Guys place, especially on a Monday. Their burgers are way better! “We originally bought tickets for the dueling pianos on a Friday night. We decided to make reservations and have dinner there. We started with the shrimp cakes and duck wontons. We also got a bourbon flight to try 4 different bourbons. We got the bone in Iowa chop with brussels and mash. We finished with the creme brulee and drinks. The shrimp cakes were good with a sweet chili sauce. The duck wontons were fantastic and awesome. I would order these any time, every time. The bourbon flight was not for me, not a bourbon person apparently. The main course was excellent. The Brussels were crispy and tasty. The mash was smooth and flavorful. It was a great compliment to the thick and juicy Iowa chop. The creme brulee was good and the drinks were decent. The shrimp cakes were good however I would rather order the duck wontons. The main course was fantastic and I would definitely order this again. The creme brulee was good, pretty standard brulee. The drinks were ok. I probably wouldn't order drinks, other than wine or beer, here as they are small and pretty pricey. The waiter was good though he did drop off towards the end and my drink order got list whether he forgot or the bar didn't do it but he did blame it on the bar. Overall, the food was excellent and worth the trip. I would say give it a try for good m, not so much the drinks.“
“The chicken lip extravaganza is awesome and usually turns into a meal plus a snack for later. The sauce on the chicken lips hits every time, the mac and cheese and dim sum green beans are excellent. Staff is always friendly and fast every time I go in. You can see right into the kitchen which looks super clean. They also have a free rewards program which means every 3 or 4 times I get takeout it's about half-price on my meal. I haven't explored their menu much, but everything I've had has been high quality.“

It was Friday afternoon but the place seemed more lively and upbeat.The menu is fairly expansive with quite a few options, some of them outside the normal fare. The prices had gone up a bit but the food was really quite good, I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had a salad that was much better than a far more expensive place a few nights earlier. The beer prices seem quite high to me, but I haven't been out drinking in quite a while. they do have an outdoor patio in the summer that borders a fairly quiet street, it is a great place to grab an afternoon sandwich. They have a huge diverse burger selection, as well as a good Reuben and Breaded PorkTenderloin, alll served with pretty good portions of Good fries!Several steps above fast food for a couple bucks more, definitely worth it“

I carefully checked the menus listed on their website and was excited to try the lamb osso bucco listed on their website at $26. When we sat down and I looked at the menu, I thought that there was a typo when the price listed for the lamb was $62!!! “can't say enough about the dedication of their employees. we recently stayed at the hampton which is connected to them. even during the blizzard of 1/24 they were able to get enough staff to keep it open allowing us the have a cooked meal instead of more hospital cafeteria food. I was even surprised when they had prime rib ready. it was very tasty and not dry and stringy like some have. topped it off with some delicious bread pudding. can't say thank you enough and if we're ever in the area again will be seeing you again.“
