“Got 1 dozen chocolate and birthday cake and 1 dozen of gluten free red velvet and got compliments on all! Wouldn’t even be able to tell that the gluten free were gluten free. Will definitely be coming back for more in the future! Also, great customer service to top it all off!!“

“I have not had her cookies yet, but I’m assuming they are really good. We live right down the road from the “Cookie Mom” and regularly get her clientele knocking on our door. The fact that this happens so often makes me think these must be some good cookies! I’m now interested in trying them myself.So…if you see this sign on the door please know you are at the wrong home. “I would give Elida’s Bakery six stars if I could. I cannot recommend them enough! We ordered cupcakes and a cake through Elida for our wedding. There were so many flavor combinations and the process went so smoothly. Not only were they visually appealing, but they tasted INCREDIBLE. We received so many compliments! The service was outstanding. I later learned they had three other weddings the same day, and despite it being such a busy day, they arrived right on time and set up a beautiful display.I have spoken with Elida and a few of her family members on multiple occasions and they are some of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met. I highly recommend this business for so many reasons! They are the BEST!!“

“This bakery has been in town for just over two years but we visited for the first time today- a Sunday. Very modern and hip shop, the staff was helpful and friendly! We had delicious breakfast biscuits. The Kolaches are so good!! We can’t wait to go back and try something else! Prices were comparable to other shops in the Iowa City area. This is a must!“

“I had the fruit salad and brisket sandwich. Both were delicious! The fruit was ripe and fresh cut. We also shared a piece of the chocolate cake between three of us and still had leftovers! It was a super generous helping and very decadent.The atmosphere is quaint and fun, with beautiful light fixtures.The gals serving us were friendly and helpful great job and thank you!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp entrance in the back. I recommend bringing help or calling ahead, as you'll need to maneuver the gift shop area. Totally doable with care, just be aware.“

“I am visiting from Tampa, FL., and in Florida, no one knows what a kolache is. So on my visit back home, I would typically stop in to Sykora’s for a kolache. I discovered them to be closed and really wanted to find a kolache before heading back to Tampa. Someone mentioned My Moms Bakery in Ely. I am not disappointed. The kolaches were great and the service even better. I messaged them on Facebook Thursday evening. They responded immediately and I had an order of kolaches ready on Friday morning. Nicest staff working in the store. Highly recommend and will definitely be back myself.“

“We were driving through town and decided to give them a call. We learned they sell their products inside of Hy-Vee in the area. We stopped and grabbed a pack of gluten free sugar cookies, gluten free puppy chow, and a gluten free strawberry cupcake w/strawberry frosting. One word… AMAZING! They don’t taste gluten free at all!“
