We had been afraid to try The Peppertree because of previous negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised! My husband and I both ordered the ribeye steak from the early bird menu. My steak was cooked perfectly and was juicy and flavorful. Our portions were generous, and very reasonably priced. Our sever forgot a few things we had asked for, but she was genuinely apologetic, and quickly made things right. Honestly, I can't understand the negative reviews. We had the Atlantic Salmon and my pal ordered the Ribeye. The waitress was so cute. She knew the line between sassy, conversational, advice on the menu and she was very friendly and fun. Kudos to the cook and menu and the atmosphere of casual fine dining. We enjoyed a bottle of home grown Iowa wine with the meal and never felt rushed as we had a long relaxing meal. Thank you Peppertree. - we will be back

The staff here is following covid protocols pretty well. I tried to order the ribs and they were out of stock --- In Iowa? The replacement steak was pretty good. Service was excellent but the margarita was a little weak.
