About Benchwarmers Eatery & Sports

Benchwarmers Eatery & Sports is a popular spot to enjoy delicious food while watching games on many TVs. The staff is friendly and helpful, with Ashley receiving special praise. Despite being a bar, it is kid-friendly. The outdoor area features a sandy volleyball court and a pool table. Visitors often find the atmosphere relaxed, and the food generally receives good praise. The salad bar looks like a good deal, but many guests prefer items like the patty melt and chili, which are both very good. There is a sign explaining that orders might take 75 minutes if the place is busy, and staff keep customers updated on wait times, which are usually reasonable. Some customers mention that food can be slow to arrive, with wait times sometimes reaching 60 to 90 minutes, making it one of the slowest places to get a sandwich and fries. Still, the quality of the food is appreciated. One visitor enjoyed the crab raccoon burger, describing it as tasting amazing, though the burger was a bit dry. Recently, guests have also praised the wings, cooked to perfection with homemade ranch dressing that tastes so good you could drink it. The crab ragoon pizza has been noted as better than Fongs in Des Moines. Overall, many find the experience enjoyable and plan to return, though parking can be a little difficult due to the shared lot with a hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, and service is quick and friendly, making it feel like visiting a friend's place. Customers have also enjoyed the tenderloin sandwich, the walleye sandwich, crispy onion rings, and boneless wings, despite some minor comments about fries needing a little extra cooking.
