pupusas , pescado y quesadillas
Not what you’d expect to find in Iowa. The owners were very friendly and helpful and explained what things were. The papusas were delicious! They are served with shredded cabbage and hot sauce. Very different and very tasty.
The real standout for me was the tamales. Best tamale I ever had! The mole was lighter than a traditional Mexican tamale. The filling was chicken, potato and a bit of carrot. They were served piping hot wrapped in banana leaf.
