“On our first visit to Corning Iowa we stopped at Background's Coffee bar for coffee and lunch. Background's was a real treat. They have great coffee, smoothies and sandwiches. I had a strawberry, mango smoothie and my wife had a Carmel coffee, fantastic! Hard to choose from all their smoothies, teas and coffees. We loved their sandwiches for lunch, tasted wonderful. I had a Cuban and my wife had a Monte Cristo. Their staff couldn't be beat, friendly and knowledgeable. They use the back of the room to feature local gift items. We had to get a beautiful coffee mug and some local honey. If we lived anywhere near Corning, we would be regulars.”

“Went there for supper tonight, had one of their steak specials. It was delicious!! The Asiago cheese dip served as an appetizer along with the steak was so good!! The boasted chicken is awesome as well. Never had a bad meal here.”
