“I’ve known this restaurant since its humble beginnings, and even worked here for a short time during my high school years. It’s always such a pleasure to come back enjoy the sandwiches, salads, and soups. The best part had to be the delicious desserts, however. What many may not know is that these desserts are created from family recipes and are prepared early in the morning each day. The signature is the raspberry cheesecake with chocolate ganache, but my personal favorite is the banana caramel - tastes like the richest banana bread with whipped buttercream and caramel sauce layers. Be sure to check out their selection of teas and coffees - the blackberry sage iced tea is a must!”

“Only 2 Chinese restaurants in Shenandoah Iowa. This china gate taste little better. They don’t have shrimp fried rice on menu but they made it fresh for me. I only have one complaint, shrimp were old and reeks of ammonia that’s all.”

“I waited 25 minutes for my order two sandwiches, two fries and one drink. I ordered a smoothie and it was foul like it was expired. I brought this to their attention asked for something diffrent to drink and was given a KID sized drink as replacement. Do better guys this is not ok. I will not be back to this location”

“I received the best customer service and my food was quite delicious but I would definitely highly recommend checking your food before you leave though and other than that they definitely keep the restaurant cleaned and the parking lot picked up as well you can definitely tell they take pride in serving their customers”

“One of the few things that make living in small farming communities in SW Iowa fun is places like this. Farragut Tavern has great food and pours an honest drink at a reasonable price! Family owned and operated and worth the drive if you're in the area.”
