The Machine Shed in Urbandale, Iowa is a fantastic restaurant with good value. The food is excellent! The service is outstanding. We love to take our grandkids to the Machine Shed every time they are in town.
Server was great! Food was very good. Gift shop is nice.
Service was awful. Our server was more interested in chatting up with regular customers about seeing her dermatologist and making sure they were taken care of before us than if our food was ready. When it did finally make it to the table it was barely warm. The 2 managers never came around to help or even ask how everything was. Won’t be back. They might want to reach out to the one in WI because they do it right.

Based on the reviews, the Machine Shed Restaurant is a great choice for a meal. The atmosphere is great, and the food is excellent. The fried chicken is absolute magic, and meals are good and hot when they arrive. The brisket was not cooked the best one time, as it was not really tender and was already slathered in their BBQ sauce. The service is very good, and one server treated grandchildren like rock stars. The wagon ride was highly rated by family members. The restaurant is delicious and similar to a Cracker Barrel. It is a place that people love and will continue to go back to, exceeding expectations even after seven years. The Machine Shed was all that was expected.
