We stopped in for the first time for a mid-week lunch after reading that they placed high in the Iowa pork tenderloin contest a few years ago with their grilled tenderloin. I was not disappointed: it was a large piece of meat that was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The price was a reasonable $6.50 (sides like fries are extra). Slaby's is a small bar in the middle of nowhere. nothing to brag about being there but not a place to be ashamed of either. I have been there several times in the past and always have had good food as far as bar food goes. A great place to stop for a damn good lunch. From the older gentlemen playing euchre, the locals enjoying drinks after a hard day of work, to the happy and smiling wonderful bar staff. A pleasant stop along the way.
