Came here to dine, the staff evidently couldn't seat us for our reservation and told us to wait for 45 min if we didn't want to cram into the bar seating. They obviously seated someone else in our place for reasons unknown. It seemed like it was ran up front by high schoolers that had no clue. Very disappointed considering I hear the food is great. Perhaps will try again without a reservation, bc they are obviously pointless.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. HOWEVER, our server was EXCEPTIONAL. In most cases, wait staff will make or break an experience for fine dining. Charismatic, friendly, and helpful was what we got tonight. We don’t make it out to the Waukee area often but I’m so glad we did tonight! Thank you Lauren for a special night out.You went above and beyond to make our experience one that we absolutely couldn’t forget. :)

We left a new restaurant this evening that offered multiple items on their menu that they were out of. We came back to a rusty trusty. Awesome experience. We always have a great experience here

We recently went to the Gastro Grub & Pub during happy hour and had a great experience. The food was very good, the service attentive and the atmosphere was great with a nice crowd! It was a very good experience and we won't hesitate to go there again....

Placed a to go order, outstanding service over the phone. Picked up no issues. Establishment looks like an amazing place with a great selection of drinks and food. To go order was so delicious. The burgers had so much flavor and the fries with the dipping house sauce was great! The wings were perctly made as well.

Second review with the original 5 years ago. Ambiance is symbolic of "gastro" with an open kitchen and high top tables. With a full house it can get a little noisy but not as bad as other places. The cocktails were well made and service was well sassy but in a good natured way. My poboy was well made but when you get 5 deep fried shrimp for the price I wouldn't say it's a great value but I guess it's the going rate for restaurant food nowadays. 3 cocktails, 2 entrees and you lay down $65-70, just seems expensive. Get used to it.

Absolutely amazing. Best food in Waukee I'd even say even Des Moines. Had a wague burger with their truffle fries and they were. By far. The best. THE BEST IVE every had. Most certainly will always come back here. Staff was amazing and helpful and quick. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. If you live in the area or are passing through you must stop by. Great selection of beers as well.

This has become our favorite bar/restaurant in WDM Very fun bar area, great happy hour & wait staff is always friendly & helpful We've had their grub burger, fries, brussel sprouts & chicken tortilla soup I'd recommend all of them!

Great happy hour 4-6. Old fashioned and the mule were really good, brussel sprouts and buffalo chicken wontons were small portions but tasty. Bacon jam burger and sweet potato fries were also really good. Big patio and really cool looking bar, waitress was also super sweet.

This is one of very few restaurants in the Waukee area that is a little more let's say high end. Good food and ambience. There is a variety of things to choose from but nothing unique about the menu. Wine list and beer list is average. I like to travel and my wife and I have eaten at many different restaurants. FOOD and the EXPERIENCE is PARAMOUNT. I'm always very happy to tip the servers accordingly and often above the ordinary it's not an easy job. The willingness to interact with people you are waiting on is important and caring changes everything.
