Sat in the drive through for ten minutes while twenty other cars got their order. I knew they were going to forget about my order when the rude attendant says “what did you have?”, then “yeah ok pull up to #2.” They completely forgot about it. I had a feeling they would because I shut off my vehicle knowing it would waste gas keeping it on. I had to leave without my stuff because of other obligations. I also heard a lot of shouting coming from the inside. Sounds like a pretty fun place to work let alone try and get any orders from. This place STINKS! Go somewhere else.
Edit: Hey McDonald’s, I saw you replied but deleted it. Why is that? Couldn’t come up with something good??

The lady who was working tonight was the only one there and was an absolute blessing! She most definitely deserves a raise, taking orders and making the food while having a full line all with a smile on her face! Food is amazing!

This is the closest one to my house, but I think I need to stop coming here. Took 30 minutes (!) from the time I pulled up to the ordering machine to the time I got my food. And the food wasn't even warm. Hoping someone at corporate can get involved to fix this location, it's baaad.

They are always SO SLOW to bring out your food, regardless of what you ordered. Took me 20 minutes to get a plain cheeseburger and medium fry… had to circle back around the drive thru to make sure they didn’t forget my order. Also some of the staff have zero manners.

Ordered a McChicken with bacon. Received it with no chicken. This was after waiting over 20 minutes at the window and it was not busy. Worst McDonalds ever.
My disturbing visit was on November 9, 2024 at 6:52 PM and at the McDonald's in Waukee, IA on Grand Prairie Avenue. It was my third time visiting this location and will be my last.
Something that can't be changed is poor design of this site. The drive through is ridiculous in terms of having to circle the entire building to get to the microphone.
Once there, the microphone was operating properly but we could not understand a word the employee half heartedly said. We took a chance that ordering a #1 would be very hard to mess up.
We pulled around to pay and the same employee was to be our cashier. She mumbled something and and then I was able to hear $7.79. I paid her. She did not say thanks AND did not tell us which of the two product windows to go to. Naturally, we chose Window 1 but no one was there and no one came for sometime. So I pulled up to Window 2. No one was there and by then, a second car had pulled to Window 1. We saw a hand move in Window 1 and I made a u-turn to get behind that car. Once we were at Window 1 again, the employee disgustedly gave me my drink and chirped, "If you just would have stayed at Window 2, I could have given you your drink there."
A few moments later, she handed my bag which contained a hot hash brown (good) but also the worst Egg McMuffin I have ever tasted (very bad). We left and then found the muffin, while toasted to nearly burnt, was far from hot and not even its egg and Canadian bacon contents could melt the cheese. It was a true "gut bomb."
This is our third visit to this "new" McDonald's and all have ended in disaster. It is not just the drive through. Its high tech interior is cold and lack's personal customer service, especially if your order is presented wrong and incomplete. Two times, I had to wait until someone magically appeared behind the unmanned counter to get things corrected.
Overall, we travel by auto a lot and often stop at McDonald's for road food. For the record, our favorite McDonald's in the entire world is at the intersection of I-70 and MO-15, just south of Harrisonville, MO.
Never say never but.......we will never stop again at the McDonald's on Grand Prairie Parkway in Waukee, IA. There are other McDonald's close by still clinging to the higher "fast food" standards of McDonald's!
