Finally found a place in Iowa that serves a good Chili Verde burrito...it's listed as a Green Chili burrito on the menu. It's got good flavor and is the perfect amount of spicy.
The staff was really nice and the restaurant is clean.
California burrito, side of queso. Best burrito ever. It was huge and had so much steak! This was all I had left once I thought to take a picture 😂

Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh offers food that is consistently amazing with ample portions. The food is super delicious, with the quesabirria tacos, carnitas burrito, and asada ricebowl being fresh with great flavor. However, some find the food pretty bland, noting no salt on the carne asada or beans, but a bevy of salsas and hot sauces are available. The torta was a little dry but had good flavor, and the salsa and sweet horchata worked well. Service is amazing, with staff like Ally and Marco being patient. Though sometimes understaffed, the team does an amazing job getting food ready quickly. Prices are very good for this quality of food. The owners are an amazing family whose love shows in food quality and staff personality.
