Service was awesome. The woman made my order was cheery and helpful. This restaurant is closer to being a Moe's than a Chipotle. The food was good. I got black & pinto beans, veggies, and other toppings owl though there are also several proteins to choose from. And there are other serving options such as burritos, quesadilla, nachos. I would come back.
Good food for a good price
We had our first Barrio Burrito Bar experience in May 2026 while visiting Ankeny, IA. Unfortunately, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, IA doesn’t have a Barrio Burrito Bat so we had to wait until our next visit to the Des Moines area. Tonight, we had that chance and stopped in at the Clive location. It was just as great as the Ankeny location. The staff was nice and helpful. The place was clean and the food was great!!

Barrio Burrito Bar is a restaurant with locations in Ankeny, Clive, and near Jordan Creek Mall. The staff is nice, helpful, friendly, welcoming, and patient. The place is clean and spacious, with sufficient parking space. The food is great, with generous portions and great flavors. The service is awesome and fast. There are burritos, quesadilla, nachos, and bowls, with several proteins and lots of topping options, including black & pinto beans, veggies, Mexican Rice, Beans, Veggies, Sauces, and Veggie Ground. The large spicy chicken bowl and the To-Go Veggie Bowl are mentioned. One of the biggest burritos is good, and the price is great for a big burrito, though it could have more flavor and spice. The quantity is sufficient and the price is reasonable. It is a good welcome alternative to Qdoba and Chipotle, and a very good Chipotle alternative and life savor.
