My husband and in laws and I stopped for lunch. My husband ordered the liver and onions and said it was delicious. Generous portion of yummy mashed potatoes and liver and onions were cooked to perfection according to him. ( I don't like liver and onions no matter how they are cooked.) My mother-in-law and I had the soup of the day, lentil and ham soup. It was the best lentil soup I have ever had. I could have eaten two bowls of it. My father-in-law had breakfast combo eggs, lots of hash browns, a hunk of ham, 2 slices of bacon and 2 sausages. We also had a very moist and tasty brownie with ice cream and a very good piece of cherry pie ala mode. All of this food came to only $61!! We are wishing we didn't live over 300 miles away from Candy's.

My parents have been going there since it started for breakfast at least once a week. The waitress knows what they want without asking. I go off and on and love that they kept all the decor from previous owners. Its an Old fashion diner. Fun to look around. Always enjoy the regulars and new customer as they enjoy this sweet diner.

Food was not very good. Probably the worst bacon I've had in a long time. They couldn't properly poach an egg either. Our waitress, (this may sound rude) was incredibly creepy. She would just stand and stare at me and my buddy for extended periods of time, with a strange look on her face. It was not something I expected to happen while eating breakfast. They have glass panels that separate the seating as well and the one behind my seat was literally seconds away from falling off the wall. Seemed very dangerous. Won't be going back. Nothing about the place made me think about going back.

Came here on a whim. We were headed to a different diner, but ended up finding Candy’s Cafe at the last minute. Surprisingly, we are glad to have found a new spot that my family will be coming back to! Food was tasty, kids loved their meal, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his bottomless hot coffee and supreme omelette. I always get an eggs Benedict when going to a diner—they did not disappoint! An old fashioned, classic American atmosphere and decor, with great service. We really appreciated the ladies seating and serving us. Truly a gem in Garden City.
